Go down Hoace Mesa Rd and then stay right at the fork. it's about 2 miles back in total. the spot is on the left. big enough for a small rv and a truck or van as well. beautiful in the fall, but chilly at night. plenty of wood around for a fire

This spot was just alright. Small spot for one, MAYBE 2 cars/vans. You could not fit a travel trailer in here easily. There was garbage at the site. And private properties on the way up. Didn’t like the vibe here much. Didn’t feel alone.
Report Check-Inwas good! no tmobile signal. right on the road so a couple trucks woke us up in our tent but nothing to complain about.
Report Check-InRight off the Forest rd, we had a 90% chance of rain, it did rain most of the night. No one else around and no vehicles went by. Maybe because of the rain storms? Very quiet and peaceful, just us and the sound of the the Forest animals. In the morning the creek was flowing which was nice to listen to while having our coffee
Report Check-InCibola National Forest IS CLOSED due to extreme fire 🔥 hazard since May 19th 2022.
Report Check-InNice, beautiful forest to camp in. May fill up quick during the summer months, seems to be a popular spot. only a few sites, Would stay here again
Report Check-InWe found a pile of garbage here. Ended up camping at a different spot along the road. Very weak t-mobile coverage.
Report Check-InLots of quiet dispersed camping in the area. Dirt roads are well maintained but could become impassible after heavy rains.

Report Check-InCame to this campsite during the pandemic because the Joe Skeen Campground in the El Malpais National Conservation Area was closed and there was no other accessible road nearby to find dispersed camping. This campsite is inside the National Forest and there are numerous others along the road. BONUS STAR for the owl that greeted me upon arrival. ZERO cell signal. Total silence at night besides the wildlife.
