Latest Check-Ins

First all looked closed -but wait a moment if no one is around. Raul lives here, so he will come somewhen.
It's really an experience to meet this guy. You will definitely not have a quiet or boring evening😂
He is totally in love with his family - you will all get them know from his photos in his phone.
It's really like you can be overwhelmed by him but enjoy if you decide to visit Raul.

WLAN is not there anymore - touristoffice (marked in iOverlander) has perfect connection and in walkdistance if you need (mainstreet to the north, besides the banco nacion). Otherwise all the same.

But a downer at the end - he wanted 50US$ for one night (2persons and car with rooftoptent). We asked again (we thought there was a fail of the number of zeros...) and wanted to give him 5000pesos per person and gave him 10k - he refused and wanted at least 20k...
but yes, he gave us pasteries, coffee and tea (but we didn't ask for and you can't really say no to him). All over we see it's difficult in ARG now and everything gets crazy expensive for the locals and so we are kind of okay with Raul because he is a nice person and really has not much. But ask first for the price to fix it.

Report Check-In

Good place to stop for a night, as next to the main street can be bit noisy, clean toilets, hot shower, friendly owner

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Raul is legendary, with a lot of love he welcome’s every Traveller 👍

Report Check-In

Paid 6.000ARS: 2 persons, SUV/rooftent.
Very small campground in his backyard, possibility to cook inside, sanitary facilities were fine. WiFi didn‘t work.

Report Check-In

Can confirm Rahul is open again! Don't know the price exactly, since he wasn't there when we left we just leave more money then it should have been. Very kind man, gave us a lot of pastries and his facilities are dated but all work correctly, enjoy!

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

All locked up as of 26/10/23. Assume due to being low season.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

incredible place. it is way more expensive than the camping municipal but way better in my opinion! (2000 pesos per person per night)
Raul the owner is an incredible human being. be ready to have the same experience than at your grandma's place. you can't leave without eating way to much and having a doggy bag ready 😁

Report Check-In

Please donot forget about the Camping Municipal. That is a good campsite as well and more suitable for rigs. See other post.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Very disappointed, this campsite is the most expensive is the least well I have visited (I have been traveling around the world for over a year). The owner asked me for 4,000 ARS. It’s really not worth it.

Report Check-In

Don’t miss the chance to visit this camping & to meet Raul! It’s the second time we are back at Raul’s place & we will never forget his generosity, good heart & spirit. Raul’s camping fits both for motorhome or tents. It’s a small campsite & Raul puts a lot of effort & love to make everyone feels at home there. Everything is very clean, the camping is situated in the middle of the town, but it’s very quiet at night. So, don’t miss this place & meet Raul personally! Thank you Raul for the great time we had at your place! 💛

Report Check-In

The owner, Raul, is a real character. He will ask you a million questions and is full of stories, very generous. Facilities are good although a bit run down. Unfortunately there’s only two bathrooms, one for men and one for women, and a lot of people here so there can be a wait for facilities. The site is well located in the middle of town. There’s a small area where bigger vehicles can park, but it’s mostly a place for tents.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

This campground is almost in the centre of the town. 4000 pesos per night for two people and a camper. Big rigs will enter on the main street as the normal entrance is too tight. No trees, nothing pretty but wind protection is ok. Tents must set up on gravel/dirt. Wifi works. Toilets clean. OK for one night. Raul was helpful but we found him to be a bit intrusive - maybe keep that in mind, if you value your privacy.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Stopped for a night, a really nice campsite with an incredible owner - Raul couldn’t have been more accommodating. Nice hot showers, a kitchen and wifi available.
4,000 for 2 people in a van.

Report Check-In

Estivemos duas noites no camping do Raul.

Report Check-In

Raúl es todo un personaje inolvidable!
$2000 x Mh, 2 personas.
Puedes regatear.
Vale la pena porque te diviertes mucho.
Un viejo loco lindo!

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Raúl is a personality! Never stops talking and smoking, does not matter if you understand 😂 Clean bathroom, hot shower. Good place for one night. I think we paid 1600ARS pn(2p+car with rooftent).

Report Check-In

small but cozy campsite. Raul is an accommodating and helpful owner. Clean heated bathrooms, kitchen to use. Highly recommended.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

It's now 1000 pesos per person per night. Has hot showers and kitchen (no pans or utensils). It's kind of someone's garden where you camp. The wifi is one block away from the camping (so you stand on the street). Fine for one night stay.

Report Check-In

Small camping place in the center of Perito Moreno

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

He sure is an interesting character ! Talks non- stop…….I mean NON STOP !!! Friendly, helpful and his location is super. All but the biggest rigs will squeeze in and it seemed very secure.
I think the previous writer made a typo ( or just got an amazing deal !) but we paid 500 each in Jan/2022, everything included.

Report Check-In

totally agree with the other comments. Raul is a very Nice Guy and very helpfull. be aware that he talks a lot but it's only kindness.
we paid 500 in total (2pp +camper) which is the cheapest we had so far in Argentina.
kitchen + Space to eat inside.
he offered us vegetables, donuts etc.
Go there!

Report Check-In

Raul is a very generous, friendly person who did a lot for us while we were here and did not charge very much at all, (500 pesos for three nights for three people, including washing clothes, beers and some food). He is extremely talkative in a way that is hard to get away from, but he is an interesting good hearted person! Good place for tents, nice kitchen, very clean bathrooms. Wifi at shop next door.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Clean, simple and very friendly. This guy talks a lot!!! One might not want to go there if too tired ;-) Payed 200pesos, 2pp and one car with a rooftent.

Report Check-In

Don’t hesitate to go to the minicamping of Raul! Raul is a fantastic and such a funny person to spend time with! He will overhelm you with compliments, personal histories and will help you in any possible way. Very clean toilet and showers, you can also use his kitchen. He also has Wifi, but it is the one of his neighbour :)

Report Check-In

Though for big rigs, we are 2.5m wide and we would have hit his little building on the way in and scraped the side of our truck camper on all of the trees as well. We went to the munI campground which was just fine.

Report Check-In

So, here is how things should go.

You have been driving on route 40.
The wind have been blowing your brains out.
You finally enter this little village.

You fill up your tank at the YPF (if comming from the South) or the Axxion (if comming from the North).
You stop at the HSBC or Banco Patagonia to get some cash and you will visit the Pananderia at the corner off the main street (you won’t miss it) to get some fresh pizza that you will need later at Raul’s.

Then, finally you arrive at this little campside. You simply just yell out his name, because he is either doing some things in his garden or he is at his chicken bench.

Directly after you shaked hands he will talk with you for the next few hours. You just simply take 10 minutes to go through his family photo’s on his phone. Listen to his medical history for 10 minutes, read all the handwritten reviews in his book of history and listen to his advice where to camp.

He will tell you how lovelly you are, your family is (when travelling with), how nice your vehicle is et cetera.

Later, you will sit in his sheltered iron house and will use his big oven for your pizza!
Or just use the gas if you decided to buy other food. Then Raul comes back to see if all is ok!
Have another chat, drink some and enjoy or go to bed.
Pay him (we paid 200ars for 2 adults-3 kids-1dog and car) the small rate and continue your windy route!

Report Check-In

Big rigs pass the entrance and construction narrowly, may need help. Raúl received us with selfmade buñuelos and opened us the private and heated bathroom.

Report Check-In

Raul is very friendly and talkative and he gave us lots of food but a little too insistent cause he really wants to spend time with you. he don't want to know about you he just want people to listen to him. he can be a little bit creepy too if I was not there he would try to touch my girlfriend and acting creepy and making her feel super uncomfortable. wouldn't recommend if you are a women travelling alone. otherwise the camping is fine for one night and super cheap.

Report Check-In

vert nice place. Raul is very welcoming! hot shower. 200 p /2pers+van

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

An unforgettable experience! At first we were skeptical because from the road it looks really shady. It also looks shady when you go in the gate but it's actually pretty decent. He has hot water, the showers are clean, toilets are clean, and the metal kitchen yurt is clean. Raul does a great job of keeping the place clean. There is space for tents and small campervans but I think it would be hard to get a big rig in. He is a very very very talkative and friendly person. He recited us poems and songs he wrote for 30 minutes, without stopping. If you want a quiet night without interruption, Raul isn't for you. If you want to meet a kind and generous person, he's your man. A quick note: we gave a ride to some hitchhikers the morning after and the young woman told us that Raul spent the morning telling her she should move back and spend the winter with him so he could travel with her. She was a little creeped out but he didn't seem to be too overwhelming according to her. Maybe just be aware if you are a solo female traveler.

See other descriptions.
raul is enthousiastic and friendly.
Nice concrete place for campervan and grass to put tents. Big rigs won’t fit underneath the entrence.
Toilet and showers warm and ok.
Shops nearby.
200 pesos (2 pax + travelcar)

now 200 pesos. maybe inflation or what. Raul is rather eccentric hippie but in a good sense. the WiFi advertised comes from the shop next to it haha

Too much wind to camp in to the wild. If you need a shower, use a warm kitchen, and meet an incredible Argentinan guy, it's your place ! Raúl is a very funny, generous, talkative person. Little camping, we could park our motorbike. Famous place for bicycle. Not a lot of space for car. 150ARS

Report Check-In

Not so much an established camp ground than camping behind a shack in someone's back garden. Showers had hot water but disgusting. VERY VERY BASIC. AR$100

Space for a couple of cars or larger one out front basic facilities. Space for tents.
