Something not right?

Description

South of Hwy 550 on Forest Road 88. This spot is on a slight rise which makes the highway visible & some light traffic noise. Possible to wander on various FS roads and get into trees for a silent night. Nothing special about the area, but good spot for sleeping if you’re traveling on 550 & get tired. Some cell coverage (Verizon). In National Forest so dispersed camping fine. Roads about for bike rides (gravel or mountain) or a morning run before heading off.

A bit tight for a larger rig.

fine spot for a quick overnight. only went in a few hundred feet. needed to dig strategically to level the van, but easy enough. very quiet.

Report Check-In

Stayed for one night. Lots of space for big rigs, however, I would definitely avoid the area if it has rained recently or if rain is in the forecast. The road had been graded the day before we arrived so driving was pretty easy. We drove all the way up a few miles to the cell tower and ended up turning all the way around to park near the original entrance by the main road. Found a fairly level spot with enough sun for our solar.

Great overnight stop, nice and quiet, we got there in our promaster campervan… you definitely want some ground clearance , sandy and some hills.

Report Check-In

Plenty of spots along USFS 88. We got a great sunset further up the hill. Road wasn't bad, but a car would have to pick a spot closer to the highway.

This space has much potential for most any rig. We entered with a 25ft RV. It was a little bumpy, but no issue (see date). Drive further for a larger open space to turn. Follow side roads for more private spaces. Road noise was negligible. Map shows the road goes out at Cuba, didn’t check.

pulled in just a few hundred yards before the snow was too deep to keep going, fair amount of road noise, but ignorable. No one drove by me while I was there, I got there about 8pm and left just before 10am. Went to Juicy Jitters for coffee 8 mins(5miles) south on 550 a food truck on left. 2-3 bars of T-Mobile service, some dropping.
