Something not right?

Description

Just read regulations on bulletin board to right as you enter the area. Plenty of parking. Two vault toilets one on each side of lake. Multiple tables set up for fishermen and camping. Immediate section to the right once at lake would be more suitable for trailers or campers. There are a couple of sites on the opposite side. Water available. a few metal firings dispersed around both sides. However, they would need to be cleaned out before used. some shade available reliant on sunrise or sunset preference viewing.

Latest Check-Ins

Plenty of room for a 38ft super C. Trees trimmed back so no problems with overhanging limbs. Parked in a turn around that was nowhere near level, but was OK for a night.

Report Check-In

There are several options for either a tent, trailer or camper. Peaceful quiet location with distant highway vehicle sounds. Plenty of Audubon observation. Fishing is set up for shoreline as well as a boat. Bathroom available on either side. Great Blue Heron have made this home, for now. No fee charged. Bulletin board near entrance refers to no fireworks. Choose no fire as I brought my own Coleman stove.

Boondock camp outside gate to lake. Not sure of legality, but working for a night after a long driving day.

Report Check-In

Multiple entrances to lake, though not connected to each other. I came in from road 240 side. Three camp spots, camp ring only, and load of trash at end of road. 😡 Another entrance has closed gate and HIHA posted—(hike in hunting area.) Entering from road 230 side (from looking at Google satellite map) and many more camp spots to be had with picnic tables and pit toilets. Most camp flats are gravel protrusions into lake—ie fully exposed. Seems quiet, but conversation across the lake can be heard as well as cars crossing a cattle grate from the sounds of it. Some folks fishing, then leaving, some folks might be camping. Lotus are infilling the small coves opposite dam.

Report Check-In

Quite spot, some traffic noise from 36 Hwy, but not enough to bother. Lots of camping spots with long jetties you can camp on. Pit toilets. Not trash so pack your refuse out. I stopped for the night car camping.

Report Check-In

Great spot. Easy to drive into with transit van. Picnic tables. Quiet. Lake side.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot. Quiet and fairly remote. Other vehicle here fishing/camping, but no problems. Bathrooms have sign that states they haven’t been cleaned because of Covid. Women’s bathroom was locked.

Report Check-In

Camping advertised as being allowed here!
Gravel driveway off rt. 36. Gate was open when I came through in November. Very windy on the lake, but great spot for a sunrise!
- vault toilet
- picnic tables
- fire rings
- turn-around for larger vehicles (I was fine in my E-250 extended)
