Something not right?

Description

It's just a gravel lot with about 30 sites for $34. Only dry camping. But the most important thing: you can use pool & showers of the hotel! (you receive keycards). There is also a general store, a restaurant, bar and a golf court. Dump station is on the other side of the road. This campground belongs to "The Oasis Ranch Death Valley" just 500 feet down the road, so you gotta register at the reception of the Oasis.

Latest Check-Ins

This was our fourth visit to this campground since 2018, and with each return, our experience has unfortunately diminished but the price has only increased. Despite some positives, the overall experience was awful and we couldn’t wait to leave. These are some pros and cons:
* The absence of clear campground rules or management oversight leads to chaotic conditions.
* The check-in desk, which handles all the guests for the entire resort, booked someone else in our spot when we left for the day to go hiking. The tag on our post clearly said we were there for another night. Since there is no campground map we had to go back and find another site and then move. The check-in staff rectified the situation by compensating us for the inconvenience. However, the next night only compounded our dissatisfaction.
* There was a 40’ class A pulling a 30’ trailer that was in the 40’ site beside us. They dropped the trailer next to their rig and were so close that their pull outs came into our site. They ran their generator until 10pm (thankfully it was a chilly night and they didn’t need A/C). We had a diesel exhaust pipe 5 feet from our windows
* The amenities, notably the pool and showers, are the campground's saving grace, though the latter could use some maintenance and one was out of service.
* The pool area, unfortunately, tends to become crowded, resembling more of a public facility than a tranquil resort setting.
* Additionally, the absence of Wi-Fi within the campground, albeit accessible at the visitor center, poses an inconvenience. There is also no laundry as advertised.
In summary, while certain aspects of the campground hold some promise, the overall experience falls short of expectations, leaving much to be desired. You really just never know what to expect here since there’s no consistency and it will depend on the other campers.

$34/night to stay at a gravel car park. No power, water, wifi or cell reception. Drinking water at the hotel. Access to pool and showers a couple hundred metres away. Toilets close by. If you don’t need showers, there’s cheaper options with the same services (none). Either way you’ll be listening to your neighbours generator.

If you’re in a tent and the weather is poor you’re screwed no matter the campground, wind (dust), rain or hot sun, they’re all baron.

We paid $29 for a night. The pool was a perfect temperature and open until 11pm. Amazing after a dusty day of desert exploring. The showers are at the pool. If you can find your way to Furnace Creek, you should have no trouble finding the showers! The pool and showers are available without a campsite for $14 a person.

Report Check-In

$26, you can use the showers of the hotel but it was impossible to find it, and nobody that worked there knew where the showers were. Too windy area so it was very loud, didn't sleep good as it could be. Recommend to overnight in others campgrounds (there are a lot at death valley)

Report Check-In

Nice spot, big campsites, but close together and no privacy. $29/night now.
Worth it for the pool (85 degree water) and showers!
Check in at the ‘Ranch at Death Valley’. Maybe it used to be called The Oasis?

Just as sunnyerna says. We also used the toilets at the neighbouring Furnace Creek campground.
