Mexico
Old school budget hotel very close to the historic centre of Durango city. It's on a busy market street, looks kinda ropey and worn out, but is basically clean and secure. Friendly staff.
Cyclists can bring their bikes into the room. Motorcycles can be parked in the lobby/courtyard.
At $170MXN a night for a solo traveller, $190MXN for double with bathroom, it was the cheapest I found in town.
Be warned: it's basic, there's no luxury here! Don't expect silence or even dark (noise and light from the courtyard floods through the frosted glass of the room windows and doors). Bring earplugs and eye-mask and thermals in winter (no heating).
Decent Wi-Fi in the lobby (not in rooms), intermittent phone signal/mobile data in rooms.
We don't have any photos of this place yet.

this now has a new name: El Rincon de Jesuita. Price for a basic double room is 310 pesos.
It is right in the middle of town and we have been able to store our tandem inside.
Bring your own towels. We were glad to have our sleeping bags too lay over the bedding.
Report Check-Inrooms are definitely a lil jenky, no towels and no toilet seat cover. but for the price of 285 pesos in the central area it's a pretty good deal
Report Check-InAs the previous comments, basic but cheap in a lovely colonial building. Wasn’t as light or noisy as expected at night. MX 300 for the cheapest room. We paid MX390 for a two bed room. Showers are hot after a few minutes but no toilet seat!
