Closed because of restorations. The country is building 4 museums and restorating a lot of sites in 2022. "La porte de non retour" is also closed for the moment.

Not very interesting. We took a French guide, but we didn’t feel like we learned or gained anything from it, and the tour took a long time. Also, the employees were incredibly rude to us at the end. It was weird. Even without that jarring part of the experience, would not recommend. Even though we didn’t enjoy it so much, were going to leave a small tip before they literally yelled at us. If you do go, note that you do not have to pay for anything. And you are totally allowed to go through without a guide.

Entrance is free, but they expect a fee. Good guide and interesting things to see about slave trade, voodoo and the link between Benin and Brazil. Its inside the formal Portuguese fort. I was guided by Oscar, who speaks English well.
