super busy. people just coming in and out. I think this is must be the only river access for this side of town. someone had mentioned that this could be a place for prostitution and maybe that could be the case but I think probably it's where people go to smoke some weed and then head out. The Walmart's not any better. it's very busy in that part of town so I decided to stick it out here for the night but I don't think I'll come back.

Arrivé à Thunder Bay à 12h00 am. Après une bonne pizza hut, on a fait un peu de route pour se rendre à se site. On s'est rendu compte que quelqu'un nous suivait à mi-chemin, même quand on a pénétré sur le site. Le Pick Up a revirer de bords quand on lui a fait face et j'écoute trop de TrueCrime pour rester là paisiblement. On a préféré aller à Westfort Parck. Faites attention à vous autres xoxo

. this is actually called Neste Thunderbay Boat launch. there was a total 17 hr plus highway closure on highway 17 and 11 do to a huge accident today. so after sitting in line hrs we turned back 30 minutes towards Thunderbay. as described absolutely stunning it's Sunday night and we enjoying our sitting in camper with the most amazing stunning view as seen in pictures. lot has bit garbage and as mentioned fisherman come and go give them room and spoke to some very friendly guys lots of fishing going on we didn't try yet but might in the morning. there are garbage bins and outhouse nice and okay. just bit garbage I cleaned up. lots of Burr so dogs stay on the leash but was able to walk on the street in towards town heavy industrial area. we walked the area and saw a small Iron carying train but no loud noise. there is an abandoned building with huge free lot right before tye boat launch on the right were we saw a camper too. while here there were random trucks and cars who came sat watched the beautiful view but nothing crazy. felt safe here.

pretty cool spot, alot of boats been launched, quite at night, best sleep we had,nice cool breeze, 2 other campervans showed up. pretty clean,great mountain view.

We stayed here on a friday night, woke up by loud noises from weed smoking people. Continuous yelling didn’t make us feel very safe. Stayed at Walmart for the rest of the night, very quiet. Maybe the weekends are not the best for this place, amazing view though.

A good place to stay for the night. Quiet and beautiful view. Some people coming and going but still quiet.
There's some trash cans and a chemical toilet.

like others say a lot of in and out.. fishermans were there in the morning but i had no issues.

Great spot, one side muddy one side of the parking paved. Stayed one night without problem. Some people came and left but no issue.

Lots of people coming and out. Man fishing but the view is incredible. I’ve parked in the bottom right next to the river. Lets go to sleep !

La place est accessible facilement avec n’importe quelle véhicule été comme hiver!
Très bien dormi avec une super belle vue! Recommande fortement

Nice spot! Industrial area. Scrapyard in the back but beautiful river and mountain in the front. Pretty busy in the evenings with in and outs. Boat launch on site. Seems like a prostitution round about. Cars would pull up for half an hour, weird noise coming from them, and would leave. Lasted until about 1am. Ok if you’re a heavy sleeper.

boat launch parking lot with views of water and the mesa in the fort William first nation. really quite beautiful views. as others have described, the area is adjacent to a chemical processing industrial center. we couldn't see or smell it where we were parked. pretty clean port-a-potty on site. this site is a functional boat ramp, so people will be coming in and out and enjoying the facilities.

Mountdale Ave Boat Launch. Place for a few decent vans. Arrived around 8 and there were a few locals loading their boats. A bit of circulation in the evening but quiets down around 9-10. Beautiful view, definitely beats walmart!

Very cute place ! Large parking lot near the river, clean bathroom available ! We woke up around 8am there was a bunch of quiet fisherman there, no one disturbed they all parked far ! The spot is gorgeous !

Fantastic place! Quiet, stunningly beautiful, has a toilet. Couldn’t ask for better.

nice view, close to airport, but flights should stop sometime in the evening.
yes there's some people coming here, having a smoke but they are closer to the ramp. we are to the opposite. it will be more calm here compare to walmart.

we just had our diner outside on the little piece of grass just before a storm. i prefer beeing here over a parking lot when i storm hit.

Spectacular view! Lots of cars come and go but after 22h no one comes here. Planted our tent in a corner and had a very quiet night.
Seems like the only free space in the close vicinity of Thunderbay.
The Children of the Earth approve.

Bel endroit pour passer la nuit. Beaucoup de va et vient, mais on a pu passer la nuit sans se faire déranger. Belle vue au réveil sur le mont McKay.

Would not recommend this place. the plant next to it makes it smell quite bad and as mentioned in other comments it felt kind of dodgy. We ended up staying not too far from there near a baseball field.

Nice view and big lot in town. Can fish off the banks. Friendly locals coming and going on their smoke breaks from their work nearby. Never felt unsafe but can see how others find it distracting with so much vehicle movement and chatter

Wouldn't really recommend this place, as it felt a bit dodgy. We checked it out earlier in the day and then again at night, and both times there were people hanging out, smoking, etc, so we just didn't feel especially safe. We ended up staying the park carpark on the east side of town instead.

In the first place we were not charmed by the industrial park nearby and some young locals came during the early night. Whereas the morning view was beautiful and we spoke with the locals and they were very nice. Decently clean potty toilet and garbage can nearby.

Huge empty space with view great view. Other drivers will stop by during the day and early evening to enjoy the view. Flat ground. Good cellphone reception. Potable potty on site.

Very busy in the evening with locals coming and going (fishing, eating take out). But it's a good spot, Pit toilet was clean and stocked and a sign indicated it was cleaned the day we arrived.
