Small 28-site campground in the Cleveland National Forest. So, lots of beautiful trees. All sites have lots of shade. Pit toilets well-maintained. Regular patrols by a ranger - the Forest HQ and a Fire Station are right across the highway. Maybe only about 1/3 of the sites occupied. Lots of good hiking close by.
Some services - pub, restaurant, etc - walking distance away in Cariso hamlet.
The bad is highway noise - pretty well constant. The campground is spread out along the very busy highway 74. The traffic must drop off radically at night - no problem sleeping.

Small campsite ok to stay a night no hook ups, minimal cell service, the trees are really overgrown so if you have a tall rig watch for scratches. 15$ a good fee for this campsite note there is a long winding climb to the top of the mountain to reach campsite.
