Description

Entire hotel and RV park is handicap accessible. Electricity was strong enough to power our A/C (140V), dump and good water pressure at each site. Restaurant La Gringa at site. Thelma, the owner of the hotel and RV park is kind and accommodating, speaks Spanish and English. She can help arrange getting laundry done, drinking water delivery, dolphin boat tours, or even massages if needed. There are hot showers and clean toilets available. It's literally beachfront so you have incredible views if you stay at first row. There's a fruteria and OXXO within walking distance.

There is a great grocery store! Just not as big as the Chedraui or Soriana. It’s called Mi Super Isla Iguada and it’s located a few blocks away on the corner of Calle Via 5 de Mayo and Calle Emiliano Zapata.

Not much to add to other comments - place is great and has, or is close to, everything you may way. Only comment is that there is no WiFi at the individual campsites, though there is slow WiFi near the office. Host is super lovely, staff are good, and the place is pet friendly.

Report Check-In

(Stand up paddeln.) Very nice spot right on the beach with a good restaurant. The lagoon was great for us to paddle. (Stand up paddling.) We stayed longer than we wanted.

Report Check-In

Nothing to add really. $300/night for a week. Could talk to Thelma for hours. The locals are cool and make good micheladas on the beach in weekends. Cd del Carmen is 45 minutes away for big shopping trips. Excellent stop with everything.

Report Check-In

400 peso p.night. steep price for small place just beside the road. thelma wasnt there got some info from other campers, already there, who said it was noisy at night. together with the high price and small no privacy area and noise...we decided to move on

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot with HOT showers and a great restaurant on site. Thelma (the owner) is a delight and very easy going. We came for one night and are on our third. The town has a lot of great little street eat spots that open after dark. I highly recommend the wings place that I also put on iOverlander called Rivera’s House, open Thursday-Sunday 8-11pm (we happened upon it open on a Monday, but I think it was open because it was Valentine’s Day!)

Report Check-In

One of our favorite camping spots in Mexico, if not our very favorite! We got a beautiful site just off the water, waking up and going to sleep to the sound of the waves. Hot, clean showers, as well as water spigots and electrical outlets (we were parked in an RV site). Thelma, the owner, is a lovely person and speaks English. One of our favorite elements was the on-site restaurant, with good breakfast, lunch, and drinks (closes early at 5 pm and is closed Monday). Decent WiFi, but only works outside office (there is a table and chairs). Watch out for the unclaimed dogs on the property. We lost a shoe and almost lost our rug. Lesson learned. Not too much to the town itself. We like the malecon and the fruit stands, but were underwhelmed with the off-site restaurants we tried. We liked Don Guillo and got a table right on the water. We took a dolphin tour with Ramon that Thelma can help arrange. Cost was 250 per adult and 100 per young child. It included a stop at a local island for swimming.

Report Check-In

Beautifull palapa with private beach. No noise from higway. Bathrooms and showers. PALAPA HUUB in facebook or google . Sussy the owner very kind.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for one night. Very clean camp spot with good and flat places for vans, right in front of the ocean. The bathrooms are clean and there are still hot showers.

Wifi was not available, but that was only because of a Error in the system.

It’s 300 MXN per camper without electricity (400 with electricity)

Report Check-In

We spent 4 nights in this nice camping. Showers and toilets are cleaned every morning! You have 4 spots with view on the bay and some others more in the shadow. We could watch dolphins from our bed! Price is 400pesos per night, but goes down to 300 pesos after the 3rd night, this means, if you stay 2 nights it costs 800pesos,if you stay 3 nights it will cost 900pesos!
There are some street dogs, and you have a direct access to the little beach. Town and malecon at walking distance.

Report Check-In

We prefered to stay under the trees and palms (not sea side), there it is quite and has a lot of shadow (beware of falling coconuts). We didn't use electricity, paid 300 Pesos for two people in a van. Wifi doesn't work constantly, only at reception.

Report Check-In

stayed here 1 week. Thelma the owner is really nice. speaks very good english. place is nice - sunset stunning. restaurant is very good. currently open Thursday to Sunday. you see dolphins, pelicans and even crabs at the beach. toilet and showers are very clean. only the street with the camiones csn be a little loud at night.

Report Check-In

very nice spot, Thelma is adorable, the only thing i didn't is a bunch of dogs wandering around and barking. and a bit out of my budget.

We spent 2 nights here on the way to the east coast and enjoyed it very much. Lady Themla is wonderful, speaks perfect englisch. Very interesting life story. We got a delicious dinner plate to our place at the beach. Infrastructure meets US standard for big rigs. Wifi only at Restaurant Area.

Report Check-In

nice place - but the publuc beach just 2 meters away is crowded on weekends with mexican families enjoying their loud music. nights and weekdays quiet. the camarones served are huge and delicious.

Report Check-In

I think this may be the best campground in all of Mexico!! What an incredible tropical oasis in a lesser known area of Mexico. We ended up riding out the Coronavirus here and stayed for 3 full months. Electricity was strong enough to power our A/C, dump and water at each site. The restaurant La Gringa is DELICIOUS (I suggest the crab and rainbow shrimp). Themla, the owner of the hotel and RV park is so kind and accommodating. She can help arrange getting laundry done, drinking water delivery, dolphin boat tours, or even massages if needed. There are showers with hot water and running toilets available. It's literally beachfront so you have incredible views all day. There's a fruteria within walking distance from the hotel but no large grocery store on the island.

Report Check-In

Nice place. A little noisy (lots of people in front if you at the beach - and you hear the street very well during the night). Toilets okay. Restaurant (fish) was top. Friendly owner. 300 pesos.

Report Check-In

nice place to camp, 250 pesos pp, little expensive but nice spot with electricity, a lot of sand and grass to camp freely

Report Check-In

Very nice place with hot showers, clean toilets and full hookups. The lady is very friendly. Beautiful beach. The Restaurant is open till evening! The meal was o.k. but not very spicy.

Report Check-In

Beautiful, accessibility friendly hotel / campground, right on the beach. Full hookups / hotel rooms have a/c. Bathrooms are clean & have hot water. Paved access to ALL areas. Full restaurant, good food and cheap. Dock on beach with lots of palm trees for shade. We paid $300 p/n for 2 people & dog with electricity only (absolutely no probs with electricity btw, everything seems newly renovated) I am impressed with the accessibility options; wheelchair/ elderly / infant friendly.

Report Check-In

Beautiful, fully accessible campsite / hotel. Paved paths to all areas. Full hookups / power at sites. Restaurant on site, hotel has a/c in rooms. Wifi is strong at main office, lounging area there. Fully fenced in with a gate directly to the beach. Has a dock and many palm trees for shade. We paid $300 pesos per night for 2 people and a small dog, with electricity only. The owner Thelma (like Thrlma & Louise ;) speaks excellent english, she is a sweet heart. The OXXO is literally 2 min walk away, and the restaurant food is good and cheap. Highly recommended! Very impressed with the accessibility; wheelchair / infant / elderly friendly.

Report Check-In

Very nice place, Telma the owner is very sweet. Restaurant is open only around noon and it is good. Showers were hot when we went there which is always great. Beach is made of shells so having shoes is a plus. The dogs were friendly with ours so that’s good. Would recommend.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Ah y a 15 metros pasan delfines junto a tu campamento.. Gratis :)

Report Check-In

This was the closest thing yet to campgrounds in the US. Large concrete pads with hookups. The spots are right next to the beach and fully fenced for the pups. Locals frequent the beach during the day and the sunsets are incredible!!! A bit pricey but that is what I found throughout the yucatan. Definitely big rig friendly and Thelma the host was more then gracious.

Report Check-In

Nice campground with flat spots right in front of the water. Great place to sit on their dock or take a swim. Felt safe as it is fenced in. Standard toilets and showers available that were clean. The food at their restaurant is great! We ate there all 3 days. You can buy ice there too. There is also a OXXO mini mart just down the street. Can get a little loud on Sat nights as there is a music venue nearby.

Report Check-In

Stayed here 3 nights and enjoyed very much!! Payed 300mex/2pers. Without electricity. Very nice people, everything in very good condition. Showers cold but clean. WiFi Signal at Office a bit slow. Highly recommended!!

Report Check-In

Nice place. Lots of shade and a good breeze when we stayed. Payed 300peso per night. Decent wifi by the main office, bathrooms are clean and cold water shower, although not much pressure from the showers. One of the dogs (scarlet I believe) was super friendly and slept under our van during the day.
Some of the water taps at campsites work some don’t. Both nights we stayed we were woken up in the middle of the night by numerous dogs barking very close by for about 5 min then all went quiet.
Overall nice place

Report Check-In

250mxn for me with a small tent. .

Report Check-In

We stayed 2 nights, could easily of stayed a week! 300mp/night, clean grounds, friendly owner, speaks better English then me and it’s my first language. Had the place to our self, busy on the beach though it was a sat n Sunday. Water at campsite didn’t work, bathrooms clean, didn’t try the restaurant, so many cheap places in town! Make sure you check out the main beach on the north side, so many crazy shells, hardly anyone on it :) the tan & white dog in the campground is a sweet, we named her scarlet. she grins her teeth when she gets excited, it looks scary at first but she’s just happy.

Report Check-In

Nice place. Friendly stuff. All very clean.
The grid has 140Volt. I cannot use it because my transformer, which I need to make european 230V, double the voltage. The result are 280V and the protection switch in my car suddenly shut down. Its now the second time on Yucatan where the Voltage is not correct. Why?

Report Check-In

Very clean campground for Mexico. Water was not working at the sites, electricity available. Nice beach 5 meters away. We paid 400 peso per night, the fifth night and following are only 300 peso. The bathrooms are very clean and the showers are HOT! The restaurant is closed on Mondays only. WiFi ok but only available at the office. The food if the restaurant was very good and the prices are very fair.

Report Check-In

Paid 300p for beach site 22“ spot for one night. Okay place, but Internet failed yesterday. Lots of local Mexicans at the hotel beach. Power all the time on high voltage 140 Volts, BEWARE if u dont have an EMS before pluggin in.

Report Check-In

Arrived at 5.30 pm restaurant closed, they asked for 400 pesos but negotiated down to 300 and to be honest that’s still way too much.
I rarely leave negative comments but we were very disappointed after a long drive. Nice beach front but old shabby cold showers with no shower head, lights or hooks to hang cloths, ( but do have toilet seat and paper)WiFi wasn’t working even sat outside the office, and very noisy until 2am.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

A recommander. 400 mxn/ nuit.

Report Check-In

Wonderful place on the water with full service. The beach is beautiful and no seaweeds.

Report Check-In

We had a wonderful time ! Enjoyed the local and beach. Thelma is a great host and is extremely helpful with anything that you may need. We needed a welder and the the guy was there the next day!! We will go back!!

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot on the beach. Full hookups and big rig friendly. Walking distance to town with all amenities.

Report Check-In

Very nice camp ground with full hookups beach front and great food. A local Mexican town not tainted by Foreigners. No internet at campground but good connection at the office. 400 Pesos a night reduced to 300 if you stay 3+ days.

Report Check-In

Duschen kalt.

Report Check-In

Well maintained, and friendly staff. Decided to stay for next two weeks. Restaurant food is good. Close to town, beach is small but kept clean. The owner, Thelma, arranged for a welder to adjust our carrier rack and a person to custom make a cover for our carrier and bike rack. Pictures to follow soon.

Report Check-In

We really enjoyed our stay here. Camped with a tent on meticulously groomed sand. Ate at the restaurant twice. Fish is excellent. Our hostess, Thelma, let us sit in the dining room on the first evening to escape the mosquitoes that were very hungry.around dusk. We planned to go back to our campsite once the sky was dark but ended up sitting and chatting with Thelma until bedtime.

Report Check-In

Nice campground. Paid 400 pesos per night for 4 people in RV 22 feet front of the beach. Water sewer and electricity at site. Wifi near the office.

Report Check-In

Pleasant place, and I was able to get a site right by the water (with that chain link fence in between). The beach is fairly small, but well kept. The owner Thelma was very friendly. 400 pesos seems like too much to me, but she was willing to lower it to 300 since I'm just one person. It's easy to walk into town - there's not a whole lot there, but I did the lighthouse tour and bought a few veggies.

Report Check-In

Nous avons proposé 200p , eau, électricité, wifi, dump..
Nous somme resté 1 nuit c'était calme.

Great place. Beautiful setting. Some paved sites. Wifi signal only good at office. 400 pesos per night but some neighbours got it cheaper with fewer services or smaller rig.

The staff is really friendly, Thelma the owner (75yo!) is an amazing woman.
We ate at the restaurant, really noce fresh fish.
500$ for 2 nights with hook up.

Easy, tidy, secure and friendly. Owner speaks perfect English. Restaurant will be nice for non-vegetarians. Near a gas station and Oxxo. Campsites feet from the water behind chainlink fence. Fits our 16' trailer behind SUV just fine. Will fit giant RV's no prob. Would recommend.

beautiful place to overnight on our way to Campeche. staff is very friendly and have a big smile.
we payed 150 pesos for two of us in our small van. they told us to pay 400 pesos at the beginning but we were able to chat to the owner (small white Mexican lady) and after explaining that our rig is not a big motorhome she offered us the 150 rate.

Report Check-In

Host is super friendly. We parked our car at the sea and had a quiet night. We were surprised, that we could not hear the traffic noise from the bridge. Restrooms an hot showers are clean and ok. Seafood in the restaurant is great!

Report Check-In

Spots with full hook up direct at the beach with a fence between us and the beach. Nice beach but dirty water. Wifi only at the reception. 30 US Dollar are too pricey for what you get.

Report Check-In

This place is lovely with amazing sunset views. Currently it incredibly humid. The bathrooms were very clean. We paid $400 pesos for tent camping. There is wifi but you can only access it by the office. The owner is very friendly.

Report Check-In

Pool was closed during our stay, and it didn't quite feel the same as in the pictures from the website. We were the only ones there as by May, the season is well over. It was HOT. Easy walk to the Malecon if you can handle the heat. Catemaco wasn't all that great in my opinion, the lake water was dirty, and just didn't feel all that special after some other places we've visited. Judge for yourself though!

The owner was really, really friendly, though, and they sell popsicles and the like. WiFi was solid.

Would probably be really nice with the pool. Lots of shaded spots, some directly in the sun.

Report Check-In

the girl in the office wanted 30 US Dollars! we negotiated and payed 360 Pesos in the end. but for nothing! No electricity, no water at the sites and only cold showers.

Report Check-In

Ok...can't agree with the comments from the Visitors before. Something seems to be changed here. At the reception only a young mexican girl...had to read her own pricelist....cashed us 360 pesos.
1: definitly no hot Water
2: definitly no Water at any Campsite
3:WIFI: you can see the wifi ssid "freedomshore"....they have no Password..and say it's not working anymore. Only a Telcel Modem in the office... no possibilty to go online...
But the priceis the same....!
Did they have a new Owner????
The locals from the Beachfront...are using the real little Showerhouse....for free.....!
Definitly not worth the money in this facility condition!!!!

perfect! we stayed here for 2 nights in our van. its now 200p per night. bathrooms were very clean. the food in the restaurant was very good. the staff is friendly, you feel very welcome there. the ocean is perfect for swimning. we had a wonderful time there.

Report Check-In

Owner and host Thelma is very accommodating. The whole place, which is big and fenced in, is totally flat with lots of concrete and landscaping making it ideal for wheelchair accessibility. Nice bay view from RV sites. Bathrooms very clean but shower water was cold. Good food in the restaurant that opens at noon. I had the seafood soup for $90 pesos and fresh squeezed lemonade for $20 pesos.I paid $250 pesos for 1 night.

Report Check-In

checked in early, needed a day to relax and enjoy the sun. price is as noted as below however, she gave us the ocean front for less since we are in a van. We love this place! great location, super clean, nice showers and a short walk to town. We paid for 2 nights.

Report Check-In

Owner Thelma is a great host, who makes you very welcome. Lovely location right on the beach. Excellent facilities and restaurant. Great place to chill out after long drives

Report Check-In

+ side: Nice place & nice people. Neat spot on the water. Total wheelchair accessible.
Bathrooms were clean and kept up. Full hook ups at camp sites.
Restaurant had very good food at a reasonable price served under the palapa on the beach.
- side: Noise maker in the LARGE power line tower nearby kept us up at night. Highway noise with jake brakes on the bridge into town.
We introduced the owner, Thelma, to the ioverlander website. Perhaps her price to camp will become more reasonable.

Report Check-In

Might have been a nice place...but for 360 pesos for one.....no way...paid less for a hotel.

Report Check-In

Good facilities, decent ocean facing sites where you can enjoy Pelican's flying. Not much beach or town. town is extremely noisy with loudspeaker, sirens going late in to night. Recommend for short stay.

Report Check-In

320MX per night. LOVED this location. Full hookup on cement with cement patios. Right on the ocean with great views. Huge palapa to sit under. Excellent restaurant which will serve dinner under the palapa. Thelma, the owner, does a great job of keeping the place spotless. Great showers with hot water, very clean. We wish that we'd stayed another couple of nights to relax before heading to the Yucatan. By comparison with the Yucatan, this one is a 10+ Highly recommend even with the cost. Town is small, but friendly. We took a half hour tuc-tuc tour which was 50 MX which gave us a good overview of the town.

Report Check-In

It was nice here. It's a proper campground with good power, water, sewer. There is a set price chart next to office. We paid $250, but it's now $300 pesos per rig. Very hot! Worth it for the A/C. Wifi was week but did reach our site overlooking the beach.

Report Check-In

Pretty spot. Pricy (welcome to the Yucatan!) There isn't much to do around but the water is great. Stay clear of the guard dog--it bit our dog and charged at me when I went to the bathroom at night. It's a shame there aren't more people here, looks like it was once a great RV park. Oh yeah, not only are there toilet seats in the women's restroom, they're padded and have TP!

Report Check-In

Nice clean site, hot showers and strong Wifi Signal at our spot but internet pretty slow. 250 p on the side and 300 on front, gate access to beach.

Report Check-In

250 pesos. Would have been 300 for oceanfront although there is a big chain link fence between you & the beach. Nice for safety I guess, but kills the view & ambience. Hot water was out during our visit. The fuel truck had apparently been in an accident and hadn't made their delivery. Wifi didn't reach our camp spot or just wasn't working, we didn't bother to find out.

Report Check-In

Nice stop-over campground, on the pricey side though.

Report Check-In

This park is in a beautiful beach front location, but unfortunately is very overpriced. We paid M$250 per tent a record cost that we didn't break until Torres del Paine in Chile. Showers were usually hot. Room for RVs

Report Check-In

Campsite overlooking the sea at the public beach. Electricity / water / waste water at site. Bathrooms so-so. Overpriced.
