John, Mulanji hiking guide | Tourist Attraction

We hiked to Sapitwa Peak over 3 days and had an amazing time. It’s a challenging hike, but so worth it. We hiked to Chisepo hut then the next morning climbed to the peak without our bags (there are sections of scrambling up rocks), then hiked to Chambe hut and the next day to Likhubula falls. It was a highlight of our travels. John is an excellent guide with a lot of experience. He now has a website: https://johnmishon.wordpress.com

We would highly recommend John and found his guidance before and during the hike really useful.

Super good guide. Speaks good english and has a lot of stories to tell in the evening around the fire.
We would choose him a second time without hesitation!

We did a 5 day hike. Its definitely recommended to stay there for at least 4 days if not longer. Since there are lots of huts to go to.
Guide 25$ per day
Porter 20$ per day
Bring TP and forks and knives, since there are only spoons, cups and plates up the mountain.

Hiking mount mulanji (central afrikas highest mountain) is an excellent experience. It takes 3 days and should be done with a good guide as it is nearly impossible to find your way at the top of the mountain. Call John Mission: +265 884 22 99 04.
He is probably the best guide you could ask for and even speaks english!. He will charge you 25$ per day and helt you get to the summit of mount mulanji. He will even cook local dishes for you on the way. He has climbed the mountain over 300 times and knows it by heart.
Do NOT go to the forest office and ask for help planning your trip to mount Mulanji. They will give you an unqualified guide who does not speak english and does not know the mountain at all. They will even charge you more. Just be on the safe side and call John Mission or send him a Whatsapp!
