Great roadside stop! Large picnic/parking area for cars, didn’t see any ‘no’ signs. We stayed the night with no problems. If you’re lucky you can get a spot next to a shelter and table, many other spots if not. Most spots as reasonably flat. Toilets are clean. Close to the highway so there’s a bit of road noise all night. But a great place to spend the night!
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Stayed the night at the EB side. It's a nice spot, and they had the heaters on in the bathrooms, which was awesome. If you are in a van or car, there is a picnic area you can stay in. However, if you have a big rig and are arriving late, I recommend skipping this spot. We have a 40ft skoolie plus van and got here in the middle of the day, and there were open spots, but by sunset there were semis parking in the car parking, along the sides of the lot, and when we went to bed they had even pulled in parking horizontally behind others that were in the parking spots. Typical rest stop noise, semis running, and highway noise, which doesn't bother us any. But there is a food truck that has a generator that is louder than the semis and starts running it at 8am. If you are desperate and need a place to stay the night it's a good spot, otherwise I would recommend moving on.
Report Check-Inhonestly the best established spot I've stayed at. the shelter area has a private table. area was pretty flat. felt safe considering all the traffic all night. make sure before you get to the main rest area you pull into the parking lot and follow it up. (see map view)
Report Check-InWe stayed from 10 PM to 8:30 AM. Was very crowded with trucks when we arrived, but we found a quiet, empty parking area in the back. No one bothered us.
Report Check-InThis Westbound rest area is a mirror image of the Eastbound but has fewer trees which are so important in the summer. In the fall & winter the Westbound rest area is fine. Plenty of parking and some picnic spots are far enough away from I-40 that noise isn’t too bad.
Report Check-InStopped early today for a nap. I doubt I'll leave before morning. What a nice find. The car area/circle is huge and there's 7 shelterd tables with trash cans. I even got a shade tree, although it's November it still provided some shade. Yes there's quite a lot of highway noise but you cannot hear any semi's parked. When you have time like we do it's nice to find a place like this to just relax.
Remember to bring anything you need in the way of food or drink as there's nothing like that here.
Report Check-InSlept for a few hours at night on the WB side. It is open, lots of trucks and cars sleeping there too. Bathrooms open and clean, shaded table areas, and pet relief area.
@MoraVentures
Eastbound rest area that has a lot more shade than the westbound rest area across the road. Worth the extra 10 min turn around time.
Report Check-InGreat spot to stop for the night. several individual picnic shelters you can Park right in front of them. separated from the semis. noisey highway. Great cell service. definitely would stop again.
Report Check-InNice stop for an overnight even if it is a little windy, EB is open but WB was closed tonight - March 11, 2023 - no signs saying for how long.
Report Check-InWe stopped here to have breakfast in our van! Lots of cars and trucks overnighted here.
Not as loud as Clines Corner as the parking for cars are a bit away from the freeway!
Report Check-InTook a nap here. Plenty of covered picnic tables with a lovely view of the scenery. Busy during the day. Restrooms are here. There is a restroom area for your outdoor companions. Drive safely out there
Report Check-InAs above but weirdly busy. All pet area / picnic spots taken so had to park in front of the restrooms. Flat but noisy because (1) trucks pass by on narrow road right behind parking and rumble the ground (2) overflow trucks idle on narrow strip behind that and (3) freeway noise right behind that - so bring your earplugs. The grassy area looks nice and quiet if you can get it.
Report Check-InAs described by others. No no signs. Climate controlled restroom. Lots of parking. Picnic tables. Dumpsters. Beware of snakes signs
Report Check-InSpent a quick night here. Almost all spots were empty (which was a surprise during Balloon Fiesta weekend). About a dozen spots with gravel, table, and overhang. More parking on the side of the road. bathrooms were clean and it was quite throughout the night if you don’t mind road noise. I’d stay here again over a truck stop
Report Check-InGreat rest stop with tons of space for overnight parking! The one downside is that the water spigets have non drinkable water.
Report Check-InThis is a large rest stop and was very crowded. We arrived late and the car/van parking was not apparent. In the morning we saw that there is a large car parking area behind the restrooms. The restrooms we're clean.
Report Check-InAgreed as described in earlier post. There are lighting posts throughout rest area.
