There’s basically nothing in this area for wild camping but we found this boat launch/public parking area. It prob isn’t a good option in the busy summer months but right now in December it works. We pulled down by the locked gate and parked parallel to the river. We made a campfire ring and will dismantle it afterwards. It’s nothing fancy but it’s among the river and trees and nearby hikes in Harpers Ferry.

Pretty quiet, some people come and go at the begining of the evening but I was alone all night. Only around 9a some people came to walk. No cell service.
Report Check-InSuper tranquille. Grand stationnement un peu avant la rivière pour de plus gros Vr. Source d’eau pour se laver.
Report Check-InStayed one night. Super quiet. Arrived at sunset. Then did an hour and half walk in the morning, beyond the red gate is a trail. Great to bring dogs off leash or go for a mountain bike ( easy ) trail ride . Lots of parking once boats are gone
Report Check-InThis was an ok place to stay. It was mostly empty and definitely jerky off the beaten path, but the other cars stayed pretty late. There’s also no cell service. It’s a nice location near the water, but definitely doesn’t have anything special for campers. Didn’t have any issues with staying here, except a random car pulled in around 2am and creepily drove near our car before leaving. There was also a random couch in the middle of the parking lot.
Report Check-InNice spot to hangout
There is a parking lot right next to the water there’s trails nearby if you’re into that too :)
