Wild camp in front of the beach. Safe place. Easy 4x4 access. Lots of threes to get a nice shadow to camp. Calm and clear water. No houses near. No facilities. Very crowded with beach campers.

nice place to do some wild camping. near the national park. sunday much people in the day. at night nearly alone and very quiet
Report Check-InOvercrowded during holidays, locals are camping there. Went to another place in the south. The critical part of the street is fixed, no 4x4 needed.
Report Check-InThe most beautiful place to camp in this area - you can opt for the campground (2,000) or set up your tent/car right just across, in beautiful spots under the trees and right in front of the beach, as we did. When we stayed it was super quiet with just one local family who work as volunteers in the refugio - they did tell us it gets super crowded with locals during holidays, so time it well. 4x4 highly recommended.
Report Check-InRoad to site recently graded, however the last half mile of road is very steep and slippery gravel. It would be a real challenge for 2X4, large, or heavy rigs, even in dry conditions.
Report Check-InSuper calm and beautiful bay. Don’t miss the bioluminescence at night.
Still a wild camp place. No one is charging any money here. Good Claro signal.
There’s a campsite here now, but I believe you can park and sleep outside it as well. We ended up paying around 20 dollars for 2 persons and a 4x4 with rooftop tent, and had access to primitive but clean facilities (water, toilets). Place was quite packed with locals enjoying the Semana Santa, some in semi permanent camps that hosted big families of all generations. We loved the vibe - everyone super friendly. Believe we were the only non-Ticos there. And the beach is serene with very quiet waters.
Report Check-InVery nice spot! When we came on a Wednesday it was not crowded as stated before. We were the only van and 1 other car that left around 8pm. Super quiet and we saw bioluminescence during the night!! Such an amazing thing to see. Beautiful sunset
Report Check-InVery crowded with campers, some permanent, some temporary. mix of locals and tourists. Dirty beach because of all the campers. we left because it was so busy (on a Thursday). Beautiful beach and sunset, but too crowded.
Report Check-InMost incredible camping spot since crossing the border from the U.S. Camped on a Thursday and there were only two other groups that left at sunset. Lots of people came in Friday morning. Free to camp. Soft sand, hardly any waves, shallow water, good for kids. No sand fleas while we were there. We tucked into a little spot looking right onto the beach. Beautiful sunset. There are rangers nearby. They walked by to tell us about some activities they were hosting for kids on Friday morning.
Report Check-Innice spot near playa iguanita. on a Saturday night there were hundreds of ticos camped here with family. facilities down the road as well you could probably walk in and use, not sure if they pay to use. major construction going on nearby as well so this spot won't be available long
Report Check-InA nice beach, quiet a lot of people on a sunday, but still enough space to enjoy it. Calm in the night.
I guess the road is pretty duable for all vehicles. Some steep dusty parts could be tricky when wet and we were happy our car is pushing from behind on the way back.
