Report Check-In

This road is now tarmac. The drive from Amboseli to Chyulu gate in Tsavo West is unproblematic und took about 70min.

Report Check-In

Now great road! Recently tarred all the way to the Kimana gate (the side roads are not tarred). No potholes. Yay!

Report Check-In

Road is getting better. As for today, around two 7km sections are now tarmac and the rest is being worked on. We managed to go through even with our sedan car, but brace yourself, it will take a while. Still it took us about 1,5 hours from the gate to the junction.
We spoke to someone on site and he said the road should be finished in two weeks, so hopefully by the end of October, it will be tarmac for the whole 22km :)

Report Check-In

spoke too soon - only the middle is done. the last 10k to the turnoff are also still under construction - apologies for the enthusiasm

Report Check-In

Most of it is now done!

2km before the gate are still under construction, but the rest ist new tarmac, so smooth sailing :)

Report Check-In

This road is under construction now. It's gonna be tarmac in stead of gravel. The road is now blocked with big stones. The side road is at some points very tricky.

Report Check-In

Just a gravel common road! Good to drive, sometimes you share the road with Giraffes at night

Report Check-In

The road is a gravel road, yes, but new done. Very good to drive.

Report Check-In

this road is NOT tar as shown in tracks for Africa. extreme corregations, followed by deep potholes, occasionally badly eroded edge. about half gravel the rest mud if raining a few deep mud trenches, but lots of traffic to help you out.
