At the end of the parking lot is a loosely packed sand road. We went in about 30 meters and pulled in toward the beach just to get off the road. No issues with a 2wd overloaded westy. It was not windy today, but a very nice light breeze. Watch the tide.
Loosely packed sand. Not ok for big rigs. TONS of 4 wheelers during the day. Extremely windy. 2WD is ok but you MAY get stuck.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
small little section of road next to an RV park. note the signs that prohibit driving ON the beach. we stopped just short of the signs. saw millions of mobula rays! municipal police and National guard patrolling several times but didn't stop to say anything. felt safe. quiet except for lots of ATVs going. 2wd fine if you stay before the sign prohibiting driving on the beach.
Report Check-InBeautiful sand beach!
Many areas are rocky, this isn’t. Parking area is fine for any car, sign says don’t drive on beach but many do. There is a little traffic into the evening of vehicles driving to and from the beach but didn’t bother me.
Nice place, a little bit crowdy, but ok. There is bigger fish in the water so if u wanna snorkel or go fishing, it’s your place
Report Check-InA spot on the beach, ironically right next door to a campground. one friend did need to pull at traction strips. spot fits about three rigs comfortably. probably wouldn't attempt to get a bus in here. we were in a truck camper.
driving or biking proximity to inner city los barilles which is so worth checking out.
grocery stores have most things but limited on variety options.
we suggest Joe's deli for gf pizza and baked items. gringos groceries for imported items including gf and organic pantry items.
This is a road for the beach and it’s well used by people with quads and pick ups. Joggers and walkers in the morning. It was okay for one night after the grocery and other business in Los Barriles. Nice walk on the beach.
Report Check-InWe really enjoyed our (very short) stay here. Pretty and calm beach. A bit further down the shore is a very popular kitesurfing area: fun to watch. Also convenient is that there is a tank station a 3 minute walk, so if in need of a bathroom (no privacy here, so otherwise you have to go in your rig/RV/bottle) you can just walk over. White sand, no shade. Didn’t swim, but looked good.
Report Check-InJust a little very public camping with trash cans (yay to trash cans!). Two other rigs here.
Beautiful views of the bay.
Report Check-InStayed one night. Felt safe. Parked right outside of the rv park. Don’t drive into the beach you will get stuck.
Report Check-InAs described. you can go by foot to the nearby village with some nice restaurants. some ATV and cars passing but in the afternoon it becomes quit. good sleep and the sunset is just in front of you.
Report Check-InStayed here 3 nights. Felt super safe. Don't go too far out though. We almost got stuck and had to help a few others who were deep in sand.
Report Check-InMuy tranquilo para dormir, bonita vista, puede entrar perfectamente carro grande o camión por el camino que entra de la carretera, nosotros tenemos un camióncito y sin problema
Report Check-InSuper nice stay. Wasn’t too windy and our truck camper had no issues with the sand. Definitely doable in a 2wd rig just back onto the beach and don’t go too far onto it.
Report Check-InOther descriptions are accurate. At the end of the parking lot is a loosely packed sand road. We went in about 30 meters and pulled in toward the beach just to get off the road. No issues with a 2wd overloaded westy. It was not windy today, but a very nice light breeze. Watch the tide.
Report Check-InParked here to scout it for camping tonight. Today is REALLY windy and there are a TON of 4 wheelers passing by constantly. Won’t be annoying at night but during the day there are a lot of them; 7 so far in 10 minutes.
Report Check-InNext to an RV Park, Pemex, and Oxxo. Great kayak fishing, spearfishing possible but not easy. Aside from the RV Park it’s a nice quiet beach with great fishing, kayak or otherwise. Few beach campers giving you most of the beach to yourself. Short walk to DT Los Barillas with good food and nice shops.
Report Check-InNot camped here but stopped to look. Recognize some other campers here. Packed sand. Not for big rigs. I'm just passing through but would consider this for in-town camping.
