This place is permanently closed! The security guard didn’t know if it ever will reopen again.

Report Check-In

Ok campsite. Facilities a bit run down but the location next to the river is excellent.

Report Check-In

friendly staff, good hot showers, limited phone signal, one other vehicle but large area so wasn't crowded. very quiet and dark with great stars. Basic but great site. didn't use the pool as very brown.

Report Check-In

Really enjoyed this campsite, peaceful, scenic, nice firepit, hot showers and clean flushing toilets. Elephant came to visit across the river and a huge monitor lizard. WiFi from 7pm sometimes, a few hotspots around the campsite where u can get a bit of airtel signal. Lovely team here. 10 USD pppn

Report Check-In

very nice, quiet and relaxing campsite at the river. hot shower and free wifi at the evening. the staff made a campfire for the guests. paid 76 000 for two.

Report Check-In

10$ pp, very nice, flat campsite directly at the river. ablutions with hot showers. quite close to the NP gate as well.

Report Check-In

It is seriously such an amazing campsite!! The peace and quiet is just amazing. Definitely recommended it. Still 10 dollars

Report Check-In

Such a peaceful and beautiful campsite. And can agree that the showers are fab. We were camped right on the river, in a private, secluded spot - only ones there. They provided lamps and a campfire for us and were very welcoming. The pool is nice to dunk yourself in but we think it was just filled from the river so it looks a bit brown - no bad thing, still very refreshing. We didn’t see any but apparently elephants come down to drink here sometimes too.

Report Check-In

Marvelous shower! 😆 And the most peaceful campsite we've had since Kigoma in TZ. No people staring at you or shouting next to you ( we were the only campers). Setting is very nice by the river under yellow acacia trees with colobus monkeys on the trees and sound of elephants coming from the other side of the river. Wifi free at restaurant area and quite fast. Toilets were clean when we were here but. No MTN internet signal. Still 10 USD ppn which is worth it. They make you feel welcome with the fire they prepare at night. Recommended if you want a peaceful stay.

Report Check-In

Nice campsite on the river. Hot shower but dirty toilet. Not really any place you can do the dishes. But they make you a nice big campfire for free.

Report Check-In

Very nice place! Very friendly staff. Really liked it!

Report Check-In

Nowadays called Bullbush River Camp. Nice campsite right at the river. You park on green grass. Clean facilities. Hot shower (donkey). $10/pppn. Friendly owner and staff and they make you a fire every evening. We spent 2 nights. Only short drive from the gate of QENP. We also had a good lunch at the restaurant (that maybe was just a bit pricey $12/pp).

Report Check-In

Very nice Lodge/ Campsite direct at the river
the campsite is also direct at the river. Green grass under nice tree. The staff is very welcome and even gave us a welcome drink. The also set up a campfire for you. Two nightguard are around.
Go there and enjoy!

remarks: I personally think it is okey for big rigs
i mean they also drove there with trucks when they built it!

Report Check-In

Not possible for really big rigs. The street from the main road is too narrow.

Report Check-In

Nice forest camping ground right on the river with open space on flat ground, the donkey is fired up early for a hot shower, friendly local staff and camping is 10US pppn. Good shade and a fire in the evening is lit up. Follow the trail along the river to the treehouse which is amazing and you can sit high up watching birds. The lodge cabins look a expensive for the 60USD pppn and the pool is not usable at the moment but the campsite is perfect for a quiet couple of days. Road conditions are poor at the moment with lots of mud and holes but nothing we can’t handle.

Report Check-In

Would have been great but very neglected and run down.
Campsite on river setting is lovely but bring a big ground sheet it’s under thorn trees and not very even under foot
Ablutions were not “working” but think that’s because the staff were sleeping in the bandas and using this block.
They opened a chalet for us to use but the water was very dirty.
Pity it’s a great setting and could be a really nice spot.

Report Check-In

Excellent Camping place. I was upgraded to Hut for same price as Camping. tasty food for $15

Report Check-In

Now managed by a couple who have lived in East Africa for nearly ten years, this is a delightful and peaceful place to stay and the welcome you received is first rate. The managers will always offer free upgrades to 'lazy camping' if they have availability and you want a night away from pitching your tent!
Prices for camping are $12 pppn (with guaranteed hot showers day and night) and you are welcome to eat from their lovely restaurant (over-looking the Kigezi Wildlife Reserve) - the food is awesome!

Report Check-In

As described in previous review. 10usd. We did look at other camps which was beautiful but had no hot water. What we liked at @the river is that you have a view over the river and it is peaceful.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place with very friendly staff. Hot shower and (slow) wifi. Awesome bar in a treehouse, beach at the river. You can see monkeys, a leopard, hippos or even elephants if you are lucky.
highly recommended!

Report Check-In

Really nice camp on the river. Friendly and welcoming staff and FANTASTIC shower. Owner is knowledgeable about surrounding areas and happy to answer your questions. Nice bar area

Report Check-In

Absolutely loved this place. The campsite is right on the river, as are all the little rooms and chalets. The birdlife is incredible, you can see monkeys and sometimes leopard from your tent. Everton is very welcoming, and the pool is lovely. If you are camping though, make sure you ask them to sort out the ants... there were big ants that bite hard where we set up - but they will come and put down solution to shoo them away whenever you ask. We will be back :)

Report Check-In

Friendly staff, facilities were ok. But due to ants being everywhere on the campground we had to move to the parking lot in the dark. So, i cannot recommend this place.

Report Check-In

They have a special camping area now directly at the river. Very quiet, bit away from the restaurant. Price is negotiable. During raining season the track to the location might be not passable.

Report Check-In

Camping was $12 pppn with own tent. Very friendly staff. Lots of ants but very calm and serene with the river. Simple shower and toilet but construction was there to built new facilities. Ishasha gate is very close. QENP is not worth visiting ( almost no animals) but Ishasha is! Finally, a bodaboda went to get us some fuel at Kahihi (90min drive) for 20.000 shillings.

Report Check-In

they wanted 15 USD pppn for camping, we didnt stay.

Report Check-In

By night - very quiet, just the sounds of the river and nature. By day, people constantly walk along a path through the campsite and workers still stop and stare. Price is $12pppn to camp and dinner is now $15. We negotiated $20 pp for camping and dinner. Very good food. Nice rustic ablutions.

Report Check-In

Nice location, friendly staff! We got a small bungalow for the price of a tent, because de manager didn't want to have empty bungalows :). We paid 10 dollar pppn. Lunch was nice.

Report Check-In

Wonderful campsite and restaurant, one of our favorites in Uganda. Recently taken over by a new general manager, Clyde from South Africa who is doing a great job with the place. Prices are negotiable and quite fair for camping. Dinner is $10 and really worth it with a very good 3 course meal. We camped nearer to the restaurant as the construction workers were still around and staring endlessly!! Ended up taking a rest day here as it was so nice and relaxed and the food was so good. Would highly recommend!

Report Check-In

Absolutely beautiful spot. I was directed to camp behind the restaurant on the grassy area beside the river, rather than the muddy, thorny area where the construction workers are. Had dinner down on the beach by the campfire. They have some books, games, darts, archery, and a teeny tiny pool to keep you entertained. Meals are a little pricy for what they are, as a hungry cyclist, the portions were a bit small for me. Staff were all lovely and helpful.

Report Check-In

Nice place on the river, good clean ablutions. They ask $12pppn, but you can easily get it down to $10pppn. FB camping is normally $35pp, but we negotiated $30pp. Breakfast and dinner is nice, but lunch is very simple for the price they charge!

Cons: Construction workers walking through the campsite, spending more time looking at us than actually working and tetsie flies at the campsite.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot by the river. Rough road getting there. Camped in our rooftop. Saw troop of colobus monkeys, palm nut vulture and crowned hornbills. No elephants in camp, but heard hippo during the night. Negotiated $20 for 2. Nice hot shower. Didn't try the food. Only neg. construction workers walking through.

Report Check-In

Wondeful hide-away with Elephants in the camp. They are building a new campsite at the back which will be finished soon and looks good. Nicely decorated bathroom facilities and clean. The complimentary nature walk was very insightful and having dinner in their restaurant afterwards gave us a true lodge experience. Great food!

Report Check-In

Very beautifull spot!! Great campsite with very nice staff. They are upgrading the place so it is getting even better! We had a guided river/camping walk that is included with the stay wich was very nice. we didn't had food but it looked and smelled really good! :)
Facilities were good and clean!
We would recommend this place to everybody!!
We paid 12 dollars for two person per night after some negotiating.
But i guess we were lucky because there were only a few guests.

Report Check-In

We stayed here 2 nights, the price has now gone up to $12USD pp for camping. Nice facilities, big grassy areas, flush toilets, great showers. Can imagine if it gets full that there are too few toilets. Nice cabins and on suite rooms too. All overlook the river. Elephants, colabus monkeys and buffalo can often be seen across the river. Restaurant and bar. Meals are $5 pp for breakfast and 10pp for dinner. No kitchen but we cooked on our own stove. The South African manager has now left, and the camp currently has no manager. The owner is in Kampala. Some things are run down, they need to rake up the acacia thorns, fix mosquito nets and window bug screens. Otherwise a very tranquil place and we enjoyed it here.

Report Check-In

Nice place to camp for a night or 2. Trips to QENP can be arranged from here. Food is good as well! If you want they can make a fire ar the river. We had some beers with the owner and his friends, this was a mistake. Kidding guys, he is a really nice guy who can tell you a lot about ishasha. We paid 10 usd pp. (The road from kihihi to katungutu you can drive without paying park fee)

Report Check-In

A south african guy manages this rustic but well kept camp. You can get here without paying park fees but you still drive the (quite good) gravel road through qenp ... And the have a guide/driver that can drive you into the park.
