Description

This is a must for every ciclotourist visiting patagonia. Ask for Emilio at the entrance. Behind the bakery he has a free room for travelers. The workers are so charming they bring you food with no advice.

Really cool place by cyclist-friendly people. I didn't interact a lot with them, but I appreciate their generous gesture. 3 beds downstairs in a basement, it's still cosy in its own way, maybe put a cover on the bedsheets that are a bit dirty, but that's all. Great hot shower and toilet. No kitchen, you can use your own gear upstairs where you leave the bikes.

perfect place for one night ! internet available and hot shower too.
for shure a little bit dirty but who cares its so nice to have a warm room after a windy day out on the bycicle and in our opinion every cyclist can help to keep that great place in the best possible condition. thanks to the owners to give us the chance to stay here.
just ask at the bakery for the room and the friendly staff will show it to you.
the bakery itsself is also good for breakfast and when you have been for 6 weeks in chile also very cheap :D

I really recommended it !

As a another commentary said, way more than any cyclist needs : mattress in the basement of the bakery, hot shower, electricity, wifi (did’t work in the place to sleep but you can have in bakery).

Emilio and Antonio are very welcoming, it’s seems just normal for them to received cyclist.

Bakery is very good and cosy, and not very expensive. And discount if you go at the closing time (midnight approximately).

Such a nice place! We just walked in saying we are cyclist and they showed us the place. It’s basically a basement with furniture and food but also 4 beds, table, chairs, shower and toilets! The panaderia is very new and not so expensive (900 for 6 facturas or 3 empanadas) and also has wifi. The staff was very friendly!

I guess it's cool if you are seriously broke then again you wouldn't eat at the new bakery across the street as it is quite expensive, so instead of eating breakfast and lunch here - go get a clean bed at the hostel around the corner 4500pp with breakfast. basement is very dusty and the cots are very uninviting. anyway very kind of the owner to allow us to pass and shower anyway.

Basement Room in the back of the bakery. Owner very nice and generous to let cyclists stay there. 3 single beds. shower with hot water and internet. Not a hotel but more than what any cyclist should need for the night. BKed goods across the road are excellent

My experience was a bit different from other cyclist. Context: We arrived sleep deprived after our flights to Ushuaia and camping in the wind the night before and would have opted for a hotel/hostel if we had known the conditions before.
Compared to a couple of years ago the casa de amistad is now in the basement in a corner between storage racks and no longer in a separate room on the ground floor. That room is now full of refridgerators, only the door reminds of it's past. Other than a small cabinet there is nothing in the basement that reminds you of the history of the place. It is moist and there is a mm of dust on every object. The mattresses and blankets covering the mattresses extremely dirty. It was noisy until midnight. We did not meet Emilio and did not dare to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night because a gigantic dog that did not get the chance to smell us before was sleeping in the hallway we had to cross. The staff was friendly though, the shower hot but not clean at the end of the day. Apparently the cyclist community helped to crowd fund the rebuilding of this place, but it is no longer a comfortable place to rest in my opinion. I visited it 10 years ago, so I can compare. There are better options in town unless you're on a very small budget.

Stayed here. Showers were warm. Beds were comfy. Stove oven was left on so nice and toasty. Bakery staff are very friendly. Got 4G signal in the basement with Personal network.

Still a really cool place. All the workers at the panadería are super nice. There's some functional wifi, beds and a shower that wasn't hot but also wasn't cold when I was there 😉 which is good. I recommend it for any cyclists coming through looking for a place to relax.
