Description

Good place to spend the night for free. No services, but fairly quiet and safe. Many other people here with campers as well. No issue finding a spot since it is a large open area. Can be noisy and dusty.

Latest Check-Ins

It’s OK for a night or two. But it’s not a nice place actually. For the lack of other options we stayed here.
Very very dusty

Report Check-In

Did verify that this is BLM land but we aren’t staying. We drove on a long gravel road to get here (the route recommended here) and it’s just too dusty to stay. Inches of pure, loose dust, and little shelter from the wind. If you have asthma or any trouble with breathing please choose a different spot. It’s nothing special. No views, in spite of really nice ones on the drive here. Quail creek has overflow camping for $25 twenty minutes from here. We are headed there! (Took Wash Dam Rd there and turf sod rd away—neither are good roads to travel—lots of pot holes!)

Report Check-In

Needed a place to stay near Grand Junction and saw this, noticed that on the satellite map it looked like it was wide open and could park anywhere. When we got here there were campers and trailers everywhere. We found a spot and blended right in with all the off roaders. Safe spot for the night. Good Verizon service. Came back for night 2 because it was easy and for sure a spot to park. Can get very dusty if windy.

Awesome open space for wild camping. Beautiful view

Report Check-In

Mostly RVs, trucks, and anything that can handle a bit of gravel road. However, I was able to get in with my 2011 Forester. Make sure Google doesn't take you the long way. I drove turf sod road into pecon road which was 3-4miles of gravel. I'd prefer not to drive in gravel like this if possible but I believe there is a shorter path (gravel wise) via E Washington Dam Rd. Pretty quiet at night, everyone parked behind their own bush and keeps to themselves. In the morning I've heard the off road vehicles will start staging so it may be busier in the morning. Not a bad spot for being free.

Report Check-In

4x4 Sprinter overnight camping. Felt safe as other rv’s, and campers dispersed in an open area, some brush and trees to park behind, soft soil, but doable with low clearance 4x4. Morning was quite until 9/10am when off-road vehicles started to play.
