Pull out by quiet road. Nothing but a place to sleep.

OK spot to sleep, bit of traffic noise in the morning. way better than a rest stop.
tried to take advice from @adampark2011 and go down by the river. I'm pretty adventurous with dirt roads but the road got very narrow and was scraping on the bushes so badly I decided to go back. Got a few body scratches and had my mirrors flipped back on my way out...
I think it would be a good spot if the road were better maintained
Just to add my two cents, I live around here. Go about a half mile further north on 263, and just before the bridge there is a road on the west side called Hudson. Go down Hudson, go past the houses and under the bridge. It’s a dirt road that can get a little sloppy in the winter, especially if there’s snow. But there’s a bunch of river access pullouts along that mile and a half section of dirt road. Very quiet and dark. Best way to go out is the way you came in. You can take a dirt road back up to 263 on the south end of Hudson but it is really tight and nasty.
It’ll take you 5 extra minutes, but it’s better than that pullout, and you are right up against the Shasta river. I see people sleeping in that pullout every time and I cringe. Go sleep next to the river!
Report Check-InPretty view, nice big gravel area. Quiet at night. No one bothered me.
