Description

This is an abandoned luxury/elaborate RV resort that is being taken over by sand drifts. There is still a building with running water with toilets and shower. Hot showers available on request. Ruben (the caretaker) is camped at the entrance. He has good English, will collect the fees and can heat water for showers. We had two expedition trucks and paid US$10 per night per truck. Great beach. A short walk up the beach to the first rock point toward San Filipe there are hot springs that come up through the sand. Only accessible at low tide. You can dig a hole in the sand and let it fill up for a hot tub. A walk to the rock point the other direction found a large colony of Pelicans

stayed here for a night on the way north. Sign at the gate says $500 pasos. We were charged $300. It's probably worth $100, but it's here and it's empty. If we had it to do over I'd negotiate a lower rate.

There are bathrooms but we're self contained so did not use. Can not report on water or showers.

Probably would not stay here again. Would be better to just wild camp off the road somewhere.

Report Check-In

We paid 300p for the night. It's got a mad-max, post apocolytic vibe. The toilets do flush! We were not impressed by the crumbling concrete, rusty rebar, and a faint odor of sewage. Some garbage and dead birds on beach. We can not recommend this place.

Report Check-In

Spent 3 nights here. He charged 400 pesos/night or 1000 for 3 for my 35ft skoolie and Jeep. We pretty much had the place to ourselves and the kids spent hours on the beach finding seashells and sand dollars.

Report Check-In

We thought this place was great. Had the entire beach to ourselves for 2 days. Fun to explore around the apocalyptic setting and let the dog run free. The toilet flushed, it felt safe and it was easy to find a spot w 2wd. Paid 500MX total for two nights. Not for everyone, but a great first night stop after crossing into Mexicali for some adventure.

Report Check-In

This RV park is okay for camping. There’s nothing fancy – just basic spots with flushable toilets and bring your own toilet paper. It’s super close to the beach just steps away. Good place to stay if you don’t mind keeping it simple. The nightly cost was $200 pesos.

Report Check-In

Funky, lovely spot. Beach is sweet and the water is like a bathtub. So warm and beautiful. It’s a little difficult to get around in my 2WD Sprinter but I found a really good spot with a little maneuvering through some loose-ish sand. I paid $300MX for one night with no services. Got my Starlink running easily.

Report Check-In

Really nice to be down hill, toward the beach, away from the main road (I-5) Has running water, flush toilets and provides a safe haven if you have a break down like we did. It's not cleaned regularly, the grounds aren't maintained.

Big rig friendly, parked on a concrete pad.

Recommend walking around to pick a lot before you park. We parked down and away from the owner's house/dogs, and we were not visited by the dogs.

Report Check-In

Abandoned RV park, people working at the entrance, the “owner” was chatting with some Americans near the entrance when we arrived. Three friendly dogs greeted us. $300 pesos for a night. Plenty of spots to choose from. Very peaceful. Beautiful beach.

Report Check-In

Actually a cool place, stayed 2 days, but… The 3 dogs of the caretaker and some others bark from evening for hours, there is relatively much garbage and dog poop lying around, the toilets/showers exceed the highest disgust limit, the street is sometimes easy to hear. Paid 200, fluctuating cell service (Telcel), great and long lonely beach.

Report Check-In

What a gorgeous location and loved the solitude. We felt as if we stepped back in time. Met a lovely couple driving the coolest big German overland vehicle and walked the beach with them. We drive a Prius and the attendant drove down at one point because he thought we were stuck, very sweet!

Report Check-In

exactly as described. We loved it, so quiet, deserted beach, pelicans. The caretaker was friendly, spoke English, charged us 200 pesos for a night.

Report Check-In

Nice beach, good spot to land for a night or two. $300 pesos. No services but a funky toilet complete with 4” scorpion in the non functional sink . Very windy which may or may not be the norm.

Report Check-In

We spent a delightful two days here on the beach and we were able to negotiate with Ruben upon arrival to pay 200 pesos/night. The more you need (water, hot showers, etc)the more it costs. The place has a sort of post-apocalyptic vibe, but it is safe, the toilets flush (BYOTP), the beach-combing is some of the best we’ve seen, the sites are relatively flat, and the views are outstanding. If you are looking for a no-frills beachfront experience and you are off-grid capable, this spot is it.

Report Check-In

We stopped here today to find out there are no hot springs in the area. The man was very nice and said there are some 60km South. We didn't end up staying here.

Report Check-In

Very cool place as described. Sign at the gate said 400 pesos for camping but we got it for 300 without much negotiation. Bathroom had a wasp nest but was still usable. We enjoyed it very much.

Be careful with parking under the steel shade structures during high winds/storm. They are not far from collapsing.

Report Check-In

This is one of those subjective stops you’ll love or hate. It’s an abandoned resort crumbling slowly as wind and sand and neglect take their toll. My wife chose it as it’s the cheapest option in an area where US$30 is common for RV parks without facilities. 250 pesos seemed a bargain with a paved access road across the soft sand that makes wild camping difficult for a heavy two wheel drive van.
The beach is spectacular, the wind incessant and the water too shallow for swimming unless you are ready to walk a very long way out beyond the small waves breaking on the extensive shallows.
Our dog loved exploring the ruins and I was torn between sorrow at the waste and joy at the solitude.
Your call!

Report Check-In

We really enjoyed this place and the quietness - felt like our own private beach as far as the eye could see. And it’s not everyday you can stay at a ghost RV park! The pool and swim up bar was filled with sand - just fun to imagine what happened here. Definitely an interesting place with pelicans and porpoises floating past and stunning sunrises.

Report Check-In

Epic spot! Worth every pesos. Charge by size of rigs and usage. Quite peaceful; minimal road noise and traffic. 1 or 2 spots under awnings. Several opened spaces still accessible from eroding sands. Running clean water, flushing toilets, and hot water on request. Really nice to have paved or brick laid roads coming in. No food delivery from town but would be pretty awesome.

Report Check-In

I also enjoyed it here. Paid $200 pesos for one night, was the only one here, very quiet and peaceful.

Report Check-In

Cool place, so glad we stopped. Couldn’t help but wonder what it was like when fully operational. Owner was friendly. Paid 200 pesos for the night, with no shower. No cell service.

Report Check-In

Run down trippy place but still very cool nonetheless, 300-400 pesos per night. Ruben was very nice and the bathrooms were nice enough for a dilapidated RV park. The turn out is just past a nicer Tortuga Place.

Report Check-In

Totally rundown but people camping here. Nice breeze. $10 for the night. Fine for a night.

Report Check-In

Very nice. Quiet. Arrived in my Class C RV Sunday night and stayed through Wednesday morning. The beach was basically empty except for a couple of families camping. Owner is fine. paid $25 USD for first night but decreased in price for every day afterwards ($20 for second, $15 for third, etc.) didn’t stay long enough to see how low it went. Showers are hot & included in stay. definitely recommend.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot to camp on sandy beach. Soft sand so wouldn’t recommend without 4-wheel drive but solid campsites also just above beach. $250 pesos/night. Hot springs are rocky, shallow and not very hot but worth digging into.

Report Check-In

Not very shady for our van, but I adore this place. The hot spring wasn’t terribly hot, but it would be nice on a warm summer day (not cool winter night, haha). All along this stretch of coastline running south for miles, the shells are good with a couple still hosting their residents. About a mile south of the campsite were people who seemed to think the fishing there was good. Birding was pretty good a bit further down. A variety of coastal and oceanic birds, as well as a group of vultures feasting in a recently dead dolphin. The buildings were very cool, and my boyfriend and I loved speculating about the success of the old resort. Doors are all impassable, but peeking in is fun. If you like abandoned stuff, this is likely worth your while. If you’re looking for a really good hot spring though, look elsewhere.

Report Check-In

A nice place to stay paid 150$ and get a place in front of the beach.

Report Check-In

It is as described. and okay place for your first stop coming across the border. Beautiful beach. Flush toilets.

Report Check-In

As described nice beach. Junky abandoned rv park.

Report Check-In

It says at the gate 350MXN/car. I didn’t stay.

Report Check-In

A warm welcome by the family, invited to park where we liked. Very basic toilet facilities, might be a warm shower in the morning? Beach is lovely and a perfect place for dogs. Lovely beach for walk/run. Quiet and relaxing, great for a night or two

Report Check-In

As described, Ruben is a very nice fellow, we arrived right at dusk, thought they were closed but we sat at the cable across the entrance and he came out and let us in. 200 M$ toilets worked..

Report Check-In

The place is peaceful but no palapas on the beach. Some old rv spots have the rv cover for shade. Paid 200 pesos for one night. You can drive right on the beach if you like. Not crowded at all.

Report Check-In

Ok if you need somewhere with water (we needed to fill our tank, non-potable) but otherwise not worth it. Dreadful bathrooms, filthy and a bad state of repair. 200 pesos for 2 people in truck.

Report Check-In

arrived at sunset and Ruben met me at the entrance. he was happy to see me and my pup. offered 200 pesos for the night and he accepted. probably could have Bartered for less but I was happy with the price. parked in a spot close to the sand filled pool and plan to go sit at the bar in it and have a Jameson toast for St Patrick's day and a late friend's birthday. will update this post if anything changes.

Report Check-In

Ruben is a kind and safe caretaker, be sure to ask him if the hot water is working for the shower. Really good strip of beach and a post apocalyptic vibe with the ruins of the luxury RV park.

Report Check-In

definitely overpriced. paid 300. probably could have barterd the price down. led say worth about 150 max. Ruben is very nice though and we did feel very safe here. hot spring are kinda a let down, not very usable and showers are cold.

Report Check-In

spent 2 more nights here and were all alone again. a few fishermen offshore and a couple of OHVs went by. other than that solitude in this funky old RV resort. We had to air down to get out on the sand and ocean front as it was pretty soft right out of the RV park. no hot water this time but we didn't asl Ruben for it. it looked like the hot water heater was still functional just not on.

Report Check-In

very cool place if you dont mind being out of town. we drive right into the beach and were all by ourselves. ee even had drinks in the sand filled pool at the swim up bar. Rueben was really nice and spoke great English. he fired up the hot water for hot showers, still no shower head but who cares. bathrooms were decent and clean with 2 working toilets, 2 showers and one sink for each sex. Hot springs are just this side of lighthouse about 50 yards fron the rocky shore and next to the rock clusters out in the sand that you can only see at low tide. dig a mote, from the soft sand around the bubbling springs and let the water fill up and enjoy. good 4G cell signal! $10 USD per night.

Report Check-In

Price seems to vary (by season?). When we arrived there was a sign saying the price is 300 MXN per night but the guard only requested 200 MXN.

Report Check-In

realy quite place! we drove down on the beach (4x4) and stayed there for the night. still 200 pesos, frindly caretaker.

Report Check-In

really nice place! the guy running the place had very good English. $10 a night per campsite. some of the spots if you look there are dumps to dump the potty.nice beach. there are hot springs on the beach only accessible when tide is out and you have to bring a shovel to dig up the sand so you can let the hot water rise. there are toilets and showers. They weren't really useable no shower heads. the toilets weren't usable eather.we felt safe there. and hes puts a chain across the entrance at night.

Report Check-In

We really enjoyed our stay here! the place is run down but i really like it! felt a bit like in a post apocalyptic movie. beach is beautyful and we had it to ourself. only drawbacks for me are the toilets and the closed bar.

Report Check-In

Tent camped here 3 nights. Quiet and tranquil white sand beach and in my opinion much prettier than beaches located closer to town. There are numerous low tides at the beach where you can take your dog out for a shallow swim. Seems to be cooler with nice breezes compared to downtown San Felipe beaches - and certainly prettier. Caretaker Ruben is nice. 300mxn/night with faucet water, showers & bathrooms. No electric. No wi-fi.
According to expat residences who live here in winter it is an luxury RV resort that went into bank receivership. It is a really pretty beach so hope other's will venture beyond downtown San Felipe to enjoy it.

Report Check-In

Beautiful abandoned rv resort. Lots of spots to choose from with a great view of the beach. Like the previous folks said, there are a few full-timers here but otherwise it's mostly empty. We were not offered hot showers, but we also didn't ask. $300MXN a night.

Report Check-In

Up to 300 pesos. Total ripoff. Worst bathrooms we've seen in our 4 weeks in Baja. Tons of other options in the immediate vicinity. Keep driving 10k in either direction and you'll pass several.

Report Check-In

Abandoned/ run down RV Park. It should have been a great place some decades ago. The gate keeper was a very welcoming guy with good english. Lots of spots to choose! Only a few americans/ Canadians RVs permanently parked. Make sure you have everything. No power. Flush toilets and hot showers. 250 pesos for 24 hours. Try to negotiate.
