It is a nice place to camp with friendly staff and a fine restaurant. We stayed for several days as we explored Mount Elgon NP from here. It takes 45 minutes to drive to the main gate.
We can recommend Cyrus as a guide (he is a member of the Guides Association, Tel +254 728149109). We visited the caves with him and hiked to the top one day later. You can meet him at the main gate, Chorlim.

Peaceful field for camping with a fully equipped kitchen and warm shower. Laundry area if you need it, great Wifi and super friendly staff that makes you feel at home. Same prices. Very recommendable!!

Report Check-In

Large garden. Peace and quiet. Bathroom in need of a face lift. 500 pppn. Kids were not charged (they are below 5).

Report Check-In

Stayed 3 nights longer than planned because it’s such a friendly, green place with lots of privacy. It’s run and mostly inhabited by christian social works. Good conversation about god and live, but there also leave you alone if you rather want to read a book. Wi-Fi is great. The best part is the supply of beer and wine.

Report Check-In

Nice place for a stopover. As said, big grassy field to park. Green environment. Slope can be difficult to level, but not really noteworthy. Ablutions has everything you need, though run down and could be more clean. But for 450 shilling pp we won't complain. Kitchen area if you need it for cooking. The lodge had cold drinks when we were there, honesty bar principles.

Report Check-In

Good place to stop ready for Uganda, details of last post are accurate. not so level field but lots of room, friendly dogs.
Road in Kitale still being upgraded, after Kitale border is good. After the border road to Sipi is half done, second half very good and empty

PRICE JUNE 2022: 500KES ppn. If you need fast free wifi for whatever reason this is the place as as signal reaches the camping area. Big lawn pleasant enough but hard to level our RTT. Toilets and hot showers quite precary but working well. They don't sell drinks (at least not beer) and it's quite a walk to find some, so stock up in advance.

Report Check-In

Nice grassy open area for camping. even for big vehicles. a bit tricky to get your vehicle levelled but if you are equipped ok. friendly owners and staff. drinks and food available on request. they opend a room for us with hot shower and toilett. still quiet place but sometimes you might hear music from parties far away. very very reasonably priced ! good place to stopover before leaving through Suam boarder to Uganda. If you travel towards Uganda Sipi Falls (next available campgrounds !) calculate generously time (6-7hrs to Sipi) as of road constructions in Kitale and around Mt. Elgon. mostly very rough road. good place also to stay for some relaxing days.

Report Check-In

Relaxed location, huge garden, very good food.

Chilled place, was first camper since march 2020. Still KES350. Theresa is very friendly

Report Check-In

Peaceful place, 350 pppn. No sheep when we visited and just one puppy. Ablutions a bit lacking and dirty but there was a western toilet and paper.

Big rig friendly confirmed.

As great as everyone says! Gorgeous quiet place to stay. Grassy camping. Dinner available though we cooked on our own. Toilet and shower available. 700 shillings for two people. Definitely recommend.

Report Check-In

Great place! Best bang for buck paid camping after 30 countries in Africa!
Entrance gate has diagonal reflectors on tree near gate, no sign saying it's the lodge/camping. Beep horn at gate.

Report Check-In

Theresa was initially reluctant to let us stay as she had some large groups at the lodge, including 40 teenagers, and was worried about the noise. In the end they didn’t disturb us at all as they stayed at the lodge and we were out in the field camping. I think she has large groups quite often though, so worth being aware of that. The only real difficulty I think is that there’s just one toilet and one shower, and that might be a problem sometimes.

We camped on a large grassy field, a bit uneven and tricky to find somewhere flat to park with the rooftent. Despite what was previously said we had no problem with sheep or dog mess at all.

Great hot shower and clean flushing toilet (they must have upgraded the long drop). Also use of the lounge area if required.

Still great value at KES350 pppn.

Report Check-In

Camping in the big, green Garden behind the House. The Garden is also used by Sheep and Dogs so there was a bit too mush Shit lying around for our taste. Drop Toilets old and dirty, hot Showers okay. Free (average) Wifi even reached our Car. Nice place considered that it really only costs 350 KSh (2,90 Euro) pppn.

Report Check-In

Big uneven slanted grasfield. The hot showers are ok, the long-drop toilets are a imposition. No electricity and light at the campsite. The owners made a disinterested impact.

Report Check-In

Beautiful grass garden for camping and cabins for lodging. Cabins are KES 1.500 pppn. Hot showers. Theresa is the friendly owner. She makes good food. GPS position is slightly inaccurate. Entrance is not exactly on the T-junction but 100 meters off it.

Report Check-In

Big grassy site, very friendly people. Prices are very good value (350KSH for camping/ 350KSH for breakfast)

Report Check-In

good campground, not much shade. 350ppn, 300 for breakfast and 650 for dinner (which was delicious). drop toilets are ok. friendly staff

Report Check-In

Very relaxed and quiet place (except for the mosque nearby and the usual noisy birds). 350 ksh pppn very cheap! No shade and toilets could seriously use an upgrade, but the showers are hot and the meals are fine and cheap. the owners are very friendly and relaxed. Some people apparently stay here for months. I planned for 1 night and ended up staying 3 nights.

Report Check-In

Lovely place, a real home away from home!

Report Check-In

Nice large grassy area in front of old farmhouse. We recommend having dinner there, as we enjoyed the roast chicken and vegetables followed by ice cream. Hot showers and long drops. Decent Wi-Fi. Super cheap.

Report Check-In

We stayed here 2 nights on route to Uganda. Extremely friendly owners, very relaxed and feels like a home. The kids may come say hi in the evenings- they are very sweet. There are 3 dogs that get let out at night, and sheep that graze in the day. Long drop toilets, electric shower or fire heated showers in the evening. We paid 350s pp for camping, 350s ppm for breakfast and 500s pp for dinner. Great food too! Only downside was not enough shade for camping.

Report Check-In

Nice and quiet camp ground with green lawn. Theresa is very friendly.
the long drop toilet has a seat and toilet paper is provided.
