Municipality campsite that's explain the fact réception desk is closing early and on sunday only open from 8.00am till 10.30am. We paid R180 pensioner rate for 1 night at pitch n°82. Apparently it's a A rate. Ablution b'ock was perfect with hot water. But becareful if you have a big rig (like us) as most pitches have low branches.

It's an industrial campground but campsites are quite big and it gives enough privacy. Ablutions block is OK, well-maintened.
On the other hand, we were there in low season and the whole thing seemed quite messy, with a reception closing very early. No way to understand which sites are A,B or C (A are cheaper, C are the most expensive). They made us pay the B rate, even if we didn't know we were in a B, as reception was closed at our arrival. Staff is unfriendly. Poorly managed campground. We hope it's because of low season... We paid 264 for a B site. Unfortunately not many other options in the area. Ok for a stopover.

We were enjoying our stay from the 1st March but were told that we had to vacate the site on Friday 10th as it was booked until Sunday 12th. Staff at reception promised that we could move back at 11am as this is their policy/rules, sites need to be vacated by 11am! We had packed up everything and were ready to go back to our site #183A. I noticed by this time that the people had not packed up and so enquired at reception what was going on! Oh they said, the people asked if they could extend their stay for the rest of the day as they decided to do lunch and apparently paid extra for this. I had a huge argument with the reception staff lady and referred to their rules of “out by 11”! How the hell does this double standard work!!! Who gives them the right to decide that if someone makes a payment to stay until later that this is acceptable! Besides all this crap, I had ALREADY paid for the site for the next 5 days!! Where is my entitlement to move onto the site at 11am???? This is unacceptable and had not only left us with a bitter pill to swallow but has ruined our stay at Onrus. We planned to come back for one night before Easter but never again!!!! Lastly and no sour grapes here, the entrance staff and specifically the gate staff to the beach area have such an unfriendly approach and attitude!!

Big campground at the waterfront. You can enter through a gate at the campsites around the number 80. Hermanus is a village of art. They are many sculptures in town and you can have an artwalk visiting a lot of artshops.

The reception staff is indifferent. Positions 86-90 are suitable for big trucks with a beautiful view of the sea.

secure location, friendly staff, good access to coastal walk. no WiFi, easy to book in. we turned up and was plenty of room (although visited in winter). Good ablutions although some of the hot water taps ran with a tinge of orange. again could be because of visiting in winter.

Good location and overall a good campsite.

Great caravan site right on the beach. over 400 sites, with lots of permanents. We stayed at #86 with a sew view and close to gate to beach.

Nice campsite, good location. We like the tidal pool! Beautiful walk alongside the coast.

Nice place next to the sea. Price is now 275 per pitch with no electricity in off season. The place gets crowded during the weekends.

Nice spot. Clean amenities. Beautiful walk by the sea between the camping and the beach. We were charged 260 for a parcel (2 ppl) without electricity.

Huge campground next to the ocean. #76 is cozy and right by gate to Davie’s Pool and walking trail. Not all ablutions have hot water so check before you disrobe 😋. The walks aling the ricks are paved and marvelous. Saw a seal and many birds including an owl. Sadly, the poaching of Abalone is huge in this bay. Brash poachers operate in the light of day as no one stops them! They don’t pose a threat, however, it is best to refrain from carrying valuables while walking and to stay on well used paths. Still all in all a great place to stay a few days... especially as it’s only ZAR155 for 2ppn at this time of year 😎.

A nice and quiet place at the seafront. Fences are usual in South Africa! Tariffs are 244 R without or 288 R with electricity or 122 R for seniors for a plot where you can stand with two cars and up to six people. Clean ablutions, hot shower.

the nearest campsite near Hermanus we found but we didn t like! feel unsecure, many residents live here. 191 per site in october for 2 people. hot showers. in front of the beach but you can not access directly.

It was very quiet when I visited but this is low season and very cold and rainy weather. Ablutions were okay. Warm showers. Very expensive for a lone traveler, as almost always on South Africa, because you pay per site not per person. 244 rand per night without electricity, 288 rand with electricity.
Since there are no alternatives around I was forced to stay here. There is a Paradise Camp nearby but that is only for residents and apparently bankrupt as well...

Yes, this place is at the seafront, but you can't go directly to the beach, because it's completely surrounded by a high fence. You have to leave the campsite through the main gate and walk to the beach (up to 10 minutes). Because of this, we did'nt like this place very much. Friendly staff.
285 ZAR for a campsite with electricity. Clean ablutions with warm water.

Ok if you like crowds of younsters in huge groups getting drunk and playing loud music. There is a quieter back end but I can imagine in holiday season it will also be noisy.

My ablution block did not have hot water, they onky switch on the geyser in peak season. would have been nice to be notified before I tried to shower.

The beachfront stands do not have a seaview, just of bushes. Horrible place.

Surprisingly good caravan park. Loads of stands withgrass, most have trees, all have braais. The ablutions are excellent.

Nice campsites directly at seafront. Lots of trees. 300 ZAR for 1 stand w/o electricity. Mobile 3G internet.
