Description

This site is a park where they host weddings, birthday parties, etc... it s big, has a flat parking area, toilets, and there is a big truck entrance (not the main entrance). Isaac asked 75qtz/night/van *increased to 100qtz/night/van. (Now it is 125Q only for small cars. Anything that looks like a camper or bigger is 150Q or 200Q plus 25Q per person after 2). One night there was a party, but finished around 10pm. We think it's a beautiful parking spot, compared to the other ones, with flowers, plants and all. Toilets were quite clean. A couple of water taps are around but not very many . Very calm at night. Isaac (the door guy) lives there, so even if it s closed, you can ring and he will be happy to host you. Easy and quick walk to center. Isaac s number +50231574343

a bit pricy for what you get, cold shower, Toilette (with a walk), 2 electricity points (but only with a long long cabel, they dont provided), only 1 key for going out at night for all campers, no discussion about a week or monthly price, it is near the City, thats the only + point on grassy field, more or less quite at night, Isaac is very helpful

cheat code:
If you stayed already here in the past you can write to Isaac and fix up a reasonable price ….

we camped here (3x) on our „previous price“

Report Check-In

The place has a lot of space, nice gardens, clean bathrooms, close to the center and a nice view of the volcano.

Report Check-In

Amazing place to rest! With a view of the Acatenango volcano, and the host Isaac was very kind with us, 125q per vehicle.

Report Check-In

Pros
Grounds are kept immaculate.
Nice environment
The workers are all super friendly. Conveniently located, half a mile from the main square.
Very dog friendly.

Cons
We arrived on 20.5.23 and were told it was 100Qt a night. We stayed for 28 nights and when we went to pay the day before we were due to leave, the price changed to 150Qt a night. If we had known that was the price we wouldn’t have stayed here for so long. It’s a nice place but not worth 150Qt a night, especially when all we used was a water refill for our truck camper! During our stay we asked if we could pay with card twice and we’re told we could. When we went to pay we were told we couldn’t. Do the math, it’s too much cash to take out from an ATM over 2 days! Not to mention the bank fees!!! We’ve loved staying here but the pricing has left us with a bad feeling about the place. Especially when we offered to pay on arrival and we’re told to pay when we leave!!
Toilet with no light once the sun goes down. Don’t know about the shower as we didn’t use it, we used our own.

Report Check-In

It‘s a place for events - so more a park / parking lot than a campground. If there is an event there are a lot of other people and cars.
Just one bathroom (toilet, cold shower) for all campers. Could be cleaned more often.

Quiet at night, close to city centre, a lot of space.
We paid 125Q (small Van) per night.

Report Check-In

We spent 2 weeks here with motorcycles and a tent. 100 a night, however I believe the price for vans and bigger rigs may have increased recently. Toilets/shower situation is very average and cleaned infrequently. Cold shower only. But the location was excellent and Isaac and all the grounds staff are very friendly. Its a very secure property. would happily stay again for the price we were charged but agree facilities need improvement if the price is increased.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for 9 nights. As described before, great and secure location to explore Antigua and its surroundings. Price is quite steep for what is offered - see earlier comments about shower and bathroom - we had to pay 200Qtz/night for our big rig. We were able to fill our water tank with potable water, so that was a plus. And Issac and his team are of course very nice and accommodating.

Report Check-In

We had a great time at Eventos Verde. Over a period of 3 weeks we stayed about 15 nights.

The camping area is nice and grassy, but they will not let you park in the places with shade.

Toilet/shower situation is pretty bad. One toilet (shower is in the toilet) for all the campers, that's just not enough...

Another bad thing: the gate is locked. If you are lucky you get one of the two keys. Otherwise you are locked out...

We came when the price was still 100/night, when we left after 3 weeks Isaac wanted 150. He really is a nice guy but the prices are way overpriced... it's pricey Antigua, probably the best place if you are not self contained...

a lot of things that annoyed us, but we would stay again

Report Check-In

Isaac is a great host here. however, don't expect the price to be 75Q any more. it was raised to 100Q for small campers a few months ago. And as of this week, they raise the price 50% to 150Q. Also they are now charging for extra people including kids over 9. We stayed for 7 days a week a go for 100Q a night. Now it will cost us 225Q a night. Unfortunately it loses all of the appeal at this price. There is only 1 toilet to share with everyone there. there is no toilet paper or light in the bathroom so you will be in the dark after the sun goes down. As others said, there is no hot water so only cold shower there. All of that was worth it when the price was reasonable but at more than double now, I would not recommend staying here. There are lots of rules as well like no hammocks, no roaming around the grounds when there is an event and no hanging cloths to dry in certain times of the day. If they are going to charge like they are a high end campground, they need amenities like higher end campgrounds have. they simply don't. there are too many compromises you have to deal with at the current pricing. we are not going to be staying there any more unfortunately.

Report Check-In

We stayed for three nights at 100Q per night in our transit van. As described by others, a bit pricey for the bare-bones facilities in an otherwise beautiful setting.
Cons: a lot of rules, which seem slightly oppressive at first but the enforcement of which seems relatively lax, and they are fairly common-sense ( ie. don’t crash someone else’s wedding or festoon the place with your freshly laundered underwear).
Pros: Isaac is great, there are lots of places to work out/do yoga if there is no event happening, it is secure and more importantly, quiet!

Report Check-In

As described by others. Isaac and gang are great. Place is well kept and safe. We stayed for 12 nights because it was convenient for the town, Market and Antiqua Spanish school (5 mins away from the school garden) also because we were parked close enough to the gazebo that we were able to hook up to electricity for no extra cost. ( we did need a 50 m cable!)
Our spot also has a clear view of the sky for the Starlink -
Be advised the bigger the rig the more the pay even though you won’t have any more space! Q150 per night for our Unimog.
Be sure and take a key if you’re going out at night. We rarely did I were able to get in virtually every night, but then there was that one night that we were almost locked out thankfully the people we were with were able to phone their kids who were in their rig and who were able to unlock the gate to let us in.

Report Check-In

The (cold) shower is working now. Good water pressure. Paid 100 Q per night for 2 in a Sprinter van.

Report Check-In

Lieu calme pour visiter Antigua même pendant la semaine. Le week-end, les espaces alentours sont réservés pour des mariages donc ça peut devenir bruyant.

Report Check-In

The prettiest spot to enjoy Antigua for several days. The place is private so nobody during the week only weddings on Saturday evening (finished at 11am) highly recommended

Report Check-In

Great campsite with loads of room, there's water and electric available. Nice quiet spot and walking distance to the town.
toilets are OK and rhe owner said the showers should be completed in a few days.
a few other rigs around and very friendly.

Report Check-In

It's great here, dogs are welcome and the place is quiet and really relaxing.
Isac is really welcoming&friendly. Paid 75Q per night per person with a Landcruiser with rooftoptent.

Different price here, but place is fine to visit antigua.

Report Check-In

Stayed for 2 nights, payed 150 Q. for a smaller rig and 2 persons. Quiet, grassy, plain. Only the womens toilet was open, 2 cabins for at least about 30 persons. And had no light, even during the day you had to carry a torch with you. For carbage you had to wach out for the guys...but still a really good option in Antigua!

Report Check-In

As described a nice and quiet place nearby Center of the city. Cold showers are working now, but feels like an outdoor shower. New price for 2023 is now 100 Q for a car with 2 people.

Report Check-In

We spent two nights here. It’s an excellent location for exploring Antigua on foot. Close by to the parking lot where the daily fruit and vegetable market sets up shop and only 10 minutes to the center of town. The event space is secure, you can ask Isaac for a key (though he is off on Sundays so ask the kid-Daniel-who works across the street from the entrance gate where they sell charcoal and wood). We never found the showers but the bathrooms are clean, there is a water tap near the parking area, and plenty of shade is available. We were asked to pay an additional 25Q for our child in addition to the 75Q for our van.

Report Check-In

Nice grassy and level parking. 75 Quetzales per night. Sometimes 100Q for big rigs!?! Shower is almost finished but unfortunately only cold. Fryendly staff.

Report Check-In

probably the most beautiful, especially quietest place in Antigua. we were standing in front of the hostel in the same street 1km further on the right, but we visited this spot. Huge area, manicured lawns and not far from the market and chicken bus station. Showers should be ready before New Year's Eve. Electricity and water available. The next event on 17.Jan23

Report Check-In

Suuuuper nice open grassy area. Our dogs loved running around and everyone was SO nice. Just ring a doorbell and they’ll let you in. Easy walking to downtown. Really large space, 100% would return.

Report Check-In

Stayed here 3 weeks. 75qtz a night! It’s a huge event park and super green with a beautiful garden. Monday through Friday it’s pretty quiet there and only gets really busy at weekends. They have bathrooms and they also have a brand new shower now ! It’s definitely worth it. The mercado is in the same street and only a 2 minute walk.
Theres a kitchen with only one sink and a fridge but you can wash dishes there to safe water.
The guardian of the place is called Isaac and he is also a tour guide if you’re looking to go on a couple hikes. He can even take you up to the volcano!
He also owns a really young cat called Tigre and he’s super friendly and cute.
From the park you have a really nice view on one of the volcanoes!
Would recommend and return here!

Report Check-In

Arrived with our rooftop tent. Easy to find, just look out for the green doors with doorbell mounted high to left. Paid 75 GTQ. Very nice flat grassy area perfect for tents, camper vans etc. Decent toilets but no showers.Highly recommended. We seem to have the whole place to ourselves so far...

Report Check-In

We stayed here for 3 weeks while visiting antigua. Absolutely loved this place! It’s so quiet and peaceful from the noise of the city. And the grounds are amazing. Water fill ups, electricity is possible if you have a extremely long (50m) extension cord and also he does have an area where you can dump your black tank.

We followed the advice and entered from 2a Calle to make the turn into the property gate easier. Very dog friendly spot!

75Q per night

Report Check-In

Very nice and quiet place close to everything. Paid Q75 per night, 2 persons and a van. Toilet cleanish. Did not hear anything about rules but we were there from Monday evening and left on Saturday. Two other overlanders there. Isaac was very friendly and likes to talk even though your Spanish is not that good 😉

Report Check-In

Not sure which problem the French people had below, because I can't read French... But one thing is for sure the price is still 75Q per van per night and it's a beautiful, quiet spot. No events when we were here. Huge grassy area for a place so central in town. Pet friendly too :)

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Everything as described previously. however starting these week there is a new set of rules: Only hang laundry up from Mon-Thu and try to hide it, don't use restroom during an event on Saturday, ask permission for making a fire etc. At least the laundry rule they seem to enforce, not sure about the enforcement of the other rules.

Report Check-In

Nice, green place, quiet. Isaac is really friendly and helpful we paid Q75 pn for a small van and 2 adults. But at the weekend when there are events you can not use the toilets!! The events also have (loud) music.

Report Check-In

As far as I’m concerned, this is the place to stay for overlanders who want to experience Antigua. It is easily walkable to everything. Kombu Ramen on the other side of town is a 25-minute walk or so, and everything else is closer. We paid Q.75/night because we stayed more than 5 nights. It’s more expensive if you stay fewer nights. The bathrooms were clean enough, though only one was ever unlocked at a time (either men’s or women’s). Be prepared to bring your own toilet paper. No showers. No WiFi, but tons of free WiFi within a short walk. The thing to understand is this is first and foremost an event space, with campers there to provide additional income. As such, there are some rules in place that prioritize the weekend events (like don’t do/hang laundry, don’t use the bathrooms on the weekend). I’m not sure whether these rules are actually enforced. I rebelliously did laundry on Friday because, well, we were paying to stay and my kid needed clean clothes. No one said anything. All in all, a great place to meet other travelers and have easy access to town.

Report Check-In

came here after vagamundo's prices scared us off. no wifi or showers, but a really nice spot with access to everything you need within walking distance. blue star hostel down the street offered "hot showers" for 10q, but found them to be cold anyways. wifi everywhere else for free. definitely coming through here again on our way north.

Report Check-In

We loved this campground. The grounds are massive and there’s lots of space for big rigs. The camp host is delightful and offers many tours. The location is unbeatable. It’s walking distance to everything you want or need in town and right across the street from a massive market. They sell inexpensive and fresh local produce, some handicrafts and some Chinese imports.

The flush toilets are clean and have toilet paper and toilet seats.

There are two entry points, one on a quieter side street and one on a busy main road. Unfortunately we didn’t know about the other gates when we got there and we have to deal with a tight turn and lots of traffic piled up behind us.

Ask him about the volcano marathons he runs. He has many medals!

We highly recommend this spot. We feel that it’s well worth the price.

Report Check-In

We stayed for two nights here and one in the vagabundo campground. The place with isaac is very chill, quiet and the cheapest option to explore antigua. Isaac was very helpfull. The water here is drinkable and showers are close to this place. Would come here again!

Report Check-In

Nice hugh place to stay in the center of Antigua. It's a pitty that they don't have a shower. The toilets were clean.

Report Check-In

This is our go-to place in Antigua. We’ve been to the police station and vagomundo. It’s peaceful and close to everything and affordable with just 75Q for a family of three in a truck camper. Lots of space for dogs and kids to play. As mentioned by others it lacks showers but access to potable water is everywhere. Affordable laundry up the road and many cafés nearby offering speedy wifi! Isaac is very welcoming and will take you wherever you want to go.

Report Check-In

We stayed for 6 nights. The property is pretty, quiet, and Issac is very helpful.

Report Check-In

We stayed 7 nights with our motorhome (Q75/night), did a hike to the top of vulcan Acatenango to look down on vulcan Fuego, with Isaak, the keeper, for Q550 (start 19.00, back 10.00 the next day, good fitness required). Nice and well kept place to explore Antigua.

VERDE EVENTOS

Stayed here in big rig for two weeks.
To enter, park on 2a Avenida de Chajon at the big green gates, walk to main gate on 1a Calle Poniente and press the bell button.
75q per night including electric.
Lavatories are clean. Water is fully treated and potable.... chlorinated for the tourists.
Isaac is an excellent host, and guide, gardens are beautiful, perfect location for town centre
if you elect to hike up Acatenango, remember it's a very tough hike, you need to be very fit.

Beautiful gardens & camping area. Arrived at 5pm, looked closed but rang the buzzer next to the big green double gates and friendly staff let us in. 50Q per tent. Cool night.

Report Check-In

Place for weddings and parties with a beautifull garden and plenty of parking spaces. We could pitch two tents in a corner of the garden on grass. There are some plugs at the patio area and there are flush toilets. We washed ourselves by using a bucket and used the water from the tap for drinking after we filtered it.
The friendly gardener/doorguy Isaac knows a lot about the city and the area around it. He let us keep our stuff here will we hiked the Acatenango
We paid 50Q per night for a tent with two persons. Its located on walking distance from the centre.

Report Check-In

As described, a great place to stay in Antigua!
We spent 2 nights and were really quiet, we parked on the grass, connected the car to electricity, and used the facilities.
Isaac charges 75/night (if you stay longer he will offer you a better deal). He is very knowledgeable about all surroundings, he is an experienced camper and marathon runner, and we had really interesting conversations. I wish we had time to stay longer.
