Small parking lot between the park and the US sailing Center. Locals say people in small camper vans stay here overnight all the time and police will not bother you unless you stay more than two nights. Busy until just after midnight (Friday) with a few guys hanging out and smoking marijuana, but after that, one of the quietest lots I’ve found, until 8am when some lawnmower or generator woke me up.
No one bothered me, washrooms open in park until sundown.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Great place to camp, a lot of other cars spent the night here. No one bothered us. Toilets very close open during park hours. Garbage bins nearby.
Report Check-In11/10 van camping spot. Tucked away, felt super safe here, nice fence to back up against. Great part of town with a little park nearby and right on the water. I came here based on the reviews and was WOWd at how nice it was. Highly highly recommend this for anyone looking.
Excellent spot for a night or two in our campervan. We’ve been here many times over the years and always love having a comfortable place to park. Can be busy in the evenings because of volleyball so you may need to leave and come back later for a spot. Clean bathrooms on the other side of the playground and an outdoor shower.
Please don’t abuse this spot y’all. We’ve seen a few larger rigs take up two spaces when they don’t need to. And others treating it like a campground. This lot can get very full. Let’s be mindful of the locals who frequent this park.
Report Check-InWalkable to Starbucks and Fresh Market. Park is nice, exploring and looking at the house in the area was great too
Report Check-InWonderful place to stay in Miami South . Been here 2 days with no issues. Great walking trail and morning workout outside waterside spot. Lots to explore! Only issue was finding which lot this was as there are a few side by side. You need to go through the tight black gate and turn immediately once inside . Either right or left is good but don’t go straight to the Sailing school .
Report Check-InThis was an amazing stay. The park is so beautiful in the morning with the dog and the night was really quiet. Other vans around
Report Check-InJust as others have said. Saw three camper vans overnight with me. Bathrooms are now open but seemed to close by 7pm. Two bars Verizon.
Report Check-InI parked in my van last night. some loud local music, but oh well, it was tolerable. Has toilets, water, and a outdoor shower by the toilets. I'd come again.
Report Check-Invery Nice spot. police went one hour this night and this early morning leaving us quiet. we are in an hymer on sprinter 4x4. we did'nt sleeping well because of no wind and it was very hot for the season.
I recommand it
Large parking lot in the park. I arrived before sunset and there was lots of activity until 10 or so. There were at least 2 dozen cars parked here.
Report Check-InBon spot !
Report Check-InThe bathroom is open. it's a little bit filthy and the water outside is locked 🔒. nobody bites the entire night. my rig is a ProMaster
Report Check-Ingreat peaceful night here on our RV, lots of places.
BUT the toilet were on renovation sniff
seems to be a long term project.
When we pulled into the parking lot there were 2 vans on the North side of the lot. The South side was partially flooded so we parked over there thinking we wouldn’t get neighbors. Well it still ended up getting filled up as it was a Friday night, there was a beach volleyball event going on and it is the spillover area for the Coconut Grove area to the South of the park. We ate at Monty’s and it was delicious with a great atmosphere.
In the park they are refurbishing the bathrooms so they have bathroom trailers available which were disgusting.
The park was well kept.
Very nice spot, free and quiet overnight parking. A gem for nomads driving through Miami!
Report Check-InIn addition: dog friendly here and beautiful sunrise almost directly on the water. 10-15 min from Little Havana. Crowded during the evening, but people leave at night and are respectful.
Report Check-InGreat spot! Restrooms were open all night, water fountain available. Saw a police car but didn't come to see us. Pretty quiet at night. No other vans while we were there, we travel in an old Dodge Ram van customized into a campervan.
Report Check-InStayed for one night. Came late and left early in the morning. there is an empty police car but we weren’t bothered.
Report Check-Instayed one night. Was great, quiet, one other class b. We have a Road trek b
Report Check-InGreat spot for sure as others have stated. We were the only ones after about 10p besides an empty police car. No one bothered us and it was completely quiet. Bathrooms were a little gross but available in a white trailer.
Report Check-InWe stayed one night, arrived around 10:30pm and some sort of guard saw us pull in but didn’t say a thing or come over to us. Left by 8:00am. Was very quiet and peaceful. Bathrooms are in a white trailer near the park.
Report Check-InStayed here two nights in a Chevy express. There was two buses and a short RV who stayed here too. On the second night a cop pulled into the lot, but didn’t bother anyone. Pulled in late and left early each morning.
Report Check-InRelax spot. Public parking. Nice transition if you need to go further South.
Report Check-Instayed here one night so far, no issues, no one else was parked overnight. I think the bathrooms are under construction right now but there is a porta potty, which I prefer because I wake up at 5:00 a.m. and usually have to take a dump right away! they started with the lawn care about 7:00 a.m. there is a whole group of homeless people dwelling in tents on the edge of the park behind the volleyball net.
Report Check-InLoved my stay here. I stayed for two nights, arriving late each evening. There were only a few cars in the parking lot (empty), but you could tell this was a parking lot locals left their cars to go walk around. I was not disturbed at all and didn't leave until mid morning. Didn't see anything in the way of amenities except trash cans.
Report Check-InGood place to stay overnight with no issues. Felt safe and the place was lit up at night. Stayed busy til 9/10. There was a water station that i could fill jugs up, only downside was that the bathrooms were disgusting and I would not use them.
Report Check-InStayed here for the night and again two days later. No other vans bother nights but no issues. the parking lot stays full pretty much from 5pm-8pm then starts to clear out. after 10 pm it was empty. Mostly quiet with occasional late night visitors smokin some kush. Overall a great park an location.
Report Check-InGreat free spot to stay! We spent 4 nights here (showing up after 9pm and leaving around 11am each day). Parking on the far end of the lot closer to the sailing center proved a bit quieter. Typically cars coming in and out until a little after midnight. Public bathrooms here are currently closed.
Report Check-InWe came around midnight, there were five other vans here. Quiet and a good night sleep.
Report Check-InStayed one night. No issues and very quiet. 3 other rigs there. Some locals were asking about my van and I gladly gave them a tour.
Report Check-InGreat Location. The parking is through a main gate with pillars(not to be confused with tiny turnaround parking lot further north) paving stones in FRONT of the sailing centre, between the park and yacht club. Bathroom close by.
Report Check-InGreat free place to park. Please be cool and don’t ruin this spot. We stayed two nights. Saw a few vans come and go.
Report Check-InWe stayed one night without any problems. The lot fits aprox. 50 cars. We arrived at 7pm and found a few spots available because there were games going on at the park. Once everyone left, more spots became available so we moved to a spot that faced the park and was below a street light. We left around 8:30am the next morning. At that time, you can already hear people exercising and enjoying the park.
Report Check-InWe stayed for 3 nights in the park with a rv 24ft and we had no problems. We usually leave around 11 am and return at 7 pm when there were more vacancies available. There is movement until 11 am because people play volleyball near by.
