This took me on a wild goose chase. should not be here in a class A

Report Check-In

Be patient. Test the sand first. lots of hard packed...but some soft. Not a big deal.

Google put me in the West side of the canal. Holdridge Road is the road you want to be on. Not Hunt Road. Both are dirt roads.

Besides that? Very faint highway noise. Peaceful.

blm camping. lots of room. hard packed sand. very private. about 20 other campers around. no services. good cell and I ternet service. this is not the hot Springsteen campsite which is for long term visitors. great place, very quiet.

Report Check-In

Important to note. the Holtville hot springs are $40 for 1-14 nights, regardless of how many nights you stay during winter months. we asked the camp host there where we could go for free dispersed camping. she said take the Holtville dirt road down three miles. the first mile is still paid BLM camping. The second mile is a buffer zone. past that is free dispersed camping. Good spot for sure. Easy dirt road for any type of rig, but choose your spot carefully to avoid getting stuck if you're Ina stuck-prone vehicle.

Report Check-In

Coming from the north, I came upon a very deep sandy section of the road. I backed the fifth wheel up about a mile back to the long term visitor area because I thought I might get stuck in the sand. It's alright because driving backwards is one of my preferred past times.

Report Check-In

Quiet with decent privacy due to mounds and shrubs. VERY soft sand off the main tracks; you have been warned.

Excellent TMO signal, usable Verizon.

Report Check-In

Nice spot near Holtsville hot springs about a mile and a half from the spring. lots of open space. I could get a friend or two in my area which is surrounded by a ten ft sand banking a stone fire pit easy road access.

Report Check-In

As described, my normal staging camp location to cross into Baja at Caliexco/Mexicali East. It’s convenient & consistent!

Report Check-In

There a number of options along this holdridge road, just look for the 14 day signs.
I turned off about halfway down it.
No highway noise. Plenty of Privacy.
Decent enough Verizon signal.

Report Check-In

Quiet and free. Nr freeway but not a problem when my windows are closed to sleep.
