South Africa
next to the beach, not too windy, facilities good, pitches in first row 210 rand, second row 160 rand. Underneath the light house.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Next to sea and close to town. Stands are a little bit small. Parking a double axcel without movers can be a problem. Out of season you park and then pay. Remember the toilet paper when visiting the ablutions.
Report Check-InNot ours. Overcrowded, narrow spaces, loud. The ablutions are clean, prices in low season for pensioners 210 R in the places without seaview, 260 without discount, first row 340 R, no discount.
Report Check-InEnjoy bumper to bumper camping with 200 pensioners? Typically I like a few less ppl, but we showed up on a friday night and there was a "block party" happening on our street. About 50ppl showed up (pensioners) to listen to the music, dance and drink. Was quite fun. Otherwise, nice location, crazy windy, clean, K9 and security walk around at night. If you walk over to where the zipline is there is a natural Lazy River that pushes you when the tide is up.There is a safe bit and a not as safe bit, ask a local :)
camping R260 midseason in the middle.
Great caravan park overlooking the beach called The Point which is a surfers paradise. There is also a tidal pool to swim in. The ablutions are very clean, but remember your own toilet paper. There is ice and wood for sale on site as well as a Tuck Shop. a
Restaurants within walking distance. Active security 24/7. Front sea facing sites R330 per night.
Not the most beautifull campsite but perfect. Everything looks good, ablutions clean (no toiletpaper). In high season the price was R550 for three persons, two tents and a car. Way over priced but the prices in lowseason are fine.
Report Check-InWe liked it. Typical boring camp parc, but nice atmosphere, friendly people, lovely walkpath along the coast, safe, with a view on the light house. Recommend! 200R for 2 adults and a child with campvan
Report Check-InPaid 171 ZAR for 2 persons with car and tent; a lot of retired long stay camper; ablutions ok, but without toilet paper! security 24/7
Report Check-InAs with all previous logs this place is not ideal for an African experience but is perfect for a stopover. Great restaurant nearby, hiking trails within walking distance and spotless ablutions. R171 for the 2 of us.
Report Check-InWhen we arrived there where a LOT of retired, long term people. Only a view spots left at the back of the camp.
We wanted to do the shark cage dive in Mossel bay, and this was the only camp to stay on.
But when you stay here, you see it isn't so bad at all. The people are very friendly, are interested in your way of traveling, the nights are quiet because the go to bed early. You can also do a nice walk to the lighthouse, by dawn we saw a lot of klipdassies and dolphins.
On the edge of town and one of the better municipal sites. Grassy pitches, many have no shade. Clean ablutions and convenient for local bars and shops. Conveniently situated for start of cliff top walk westwards. There are some long termers here but only 6-8 when we were there. Section with trees closed off in low season but pitches large. Reasonably busy.
Report Check-InOh dear ..... Campsite in town , feels like a zoo ! Lots of people with " long term" pitch's set up. Can walk to a couple of restaurants. Campsite is not on The beach. If In front row view of fence and road. These are R260, all others are R180 & you can only pay by card.no cash is accepted. Ablutions clean, but No toilet roll !!!
Report Check-Innext to the beach, not too windy, facilites good, pitches in first row 210 rand, second row 160 rand
