MODERATOR NOTE: Place removed because camping is illegal here. Signs posted and enforced

-- Definitely more enforced than in the past but you can still get lucky during a storm. Park assuming you'll be asked to leave otherwise. Successful overnight 2/2 to 2/3.

Latest Check-Ins

This place is hit or miss. In the past overnight parking are technically not allowed but generally, 8/10 times you were fine if you parked on the far edges of the lot. They have definitely began enforcing the no-overnights more but I was able to get in an overnight for the storm with no knocking or asked to leave.

no overnight parking. you will get a ticket :(

Report Check-In

spent the night here. Lasted through the night but woke up with a $75 ticket on my window. DO NOT STAY HERE

Report Check-In

Decided to stay as we were skiing and there was atleast 15+ other campers and no where nearby to stay. Got a knock at 7am saying no camping and warned we could get $75 fine. Got a second knock 15mins later some one trying to fine us. Managed to get out of the fine as we explained we had been warned and wanted to move. Not worth the risk, they seem to be cracking down hard now

Report Check-In

We spent one night before skiing and had no problems. Plenty of space and there are restrooms. If you need a shower can go to the gym and pay 10 dollars to use their locker room, with amazing hot shower and towels.

Back of the alpine lot right by the transportation centre. Just go inside and get a pass to fill out and put on your rear view. Free for the night for seemingly unlimited time. There’s washrooms with running water right next door.

Huge lot for Copper Mountain, we stayed one night in our van and got a knock from an employee at 7am telling us that camping is not permitted on the property. They knocked on every van in the lot and had printed warnings to leave on windshields if you didn’t answer. Seems like they’re starting to crack down on people staying here - but at least they waited until the morning to boot everyone.

Good night here, no problems. Plows we're going all night, but not too bad. Great Verizon service.

Report Check-In

Maybe it’s just because of the Dew tour but about 20 of us camped along the wall and had no problem. One night was a long beep beep from the snow plow but that’s the deal!

Report Check-In

Signs say no overnight parking but I called the lodge and they told me I can park here overnight. A few other vans, RVs, and cars parked overnight as well with no issues. A local told me they don’t enforce the overnight parking rule as much in the summer as they do in the winter.

It has signs posted everywhere not to camp overnight, however there were 10-20 vans and car campers so I spent the Saturday night no problem. Sunday afternoon a couple of security guys came around and booted everyone. I guess it’s cool as long they don’t come around and enforce it.

Report Check-In

Be cool. Read the rules in the transport center. If you have a long vehicle park along the east edge, short on the north edge. Move your car after it snows and cycle every couple nights so you’re not actually living here. Get your reservation scanned too

Report Check-In

It definitely doesn’t feel like you can stay here based on the very specific no overnight parking, no camping, no RV signs, but we went for it anyways based on reviews. We didn’t have any trouble, but it was LOUD right next to the interstate. And cold, but that’s to be expected at that altitude. There was one other RV that looked like it might be a permanent fixture but no one inside. Other than that, we were the only ones in the lot.

Report Check-In

Actually lived here last winter full time. Be cool. Park on the edge along the row with the Copper trucks. When it snows you’ll get plowed in but that’s about the worst that’ll happen

Report Check-In

I can confirm this lot is okay to stay in. Stayed here two nights and wasn’t bothered, although they didn’t get any significant snow while I was there. If it dumps, you might have to move your rig so the plows can work. However, there were a few cars that had been plowed in for what looks like weeks, so maybe you’d just have to shovel out.

Two other campers stayed here while I was here. No issues. Just park along the edges of the lot towards the back, or right up front in the first two rows near the transportation center. That building has bathrooms and water fountains, it stays open 24/7 in the winter. Strong AT&T signal.

For peace of mind, I snagged one of the green self-service overnight parking permits. They’re just inside the doors of the transport center, on the right hand side. Fill out your info and stick it on the dash, although most other overnight cars didn’t have them so probably not necessary. The permits allow 3x nights of free overnight parking, but does specify no camping. Camp/sleep at your own risk.

Report Check-In

New this year (2020) overnight parking is allowed in this lot. Signs say no overnight parking or camping, however when I called the mountain they directed me here to camp overnight. Spent 2 nights in a row here next to other campers, was not bothered
