No reason to come here for camping...and the dive is 70$ which is way too much for a shore dive in such a place.

Price is now 8.000 pp for one night. Which in our opinion is waaaaay to high for parking on a driveway. Also there was no running water when we were here, therefore no possibility to shower, do dishes or flush the toilet. When we contacted Marco about this, he wasn't of much help nor did he offered a reduction.

The beach is nice but also easily doable as a day trip from Benguela.

All together nothing explains these very high prices.

It was great to be here, would recommend 100%.

Not big rig friendly on the center itself, the road to lead here is very steep and sandy on the last 1km and needs 4x4. Our 2WD 50hp didn't make it without some assistance ;)

To clear past posts up a bit:

Marco runs the Divecenter, he is not always in Angola, why it is important to contact him in advance (see whatsapp above).

He doesn't own the Compound! He is not making up the prices for camping but his non english speaking partner.

Gervasio is a guy working for the partner, not speaking english aswell.

Marco is sometimes the intermediate to sort out accomodation for travelers.

It is mainly a dive center with very good facilities included in the price if you stay overnight. You can use everything, from shower, kitchen, washing machine, shorepower.

Price for Camping p.p. was 7000kwa.
Price for Room p.p. was 10'000kwa.

Diving: 34'000kwa.
Multiple dives: 30'000kwa.

The place is beautifully decorated and Marco gives his heart to the place. He is very helpful and kind, building up this nice spot here.

Diving and snorkeling is amazing here, I saw Seahorses, Grouper, Torpedo ray, Morays and many more.

Sadly locals are fishing in the Reef.
The government is not reacting yet.
If you have ideas, contacts to NGO's concerning Marine conservation, please forward them to Marco.

This beautiful unterwater paradise needs to be protected!

We enjoyed our stay and in doubt, we don't get a revenue for this comment :)

Exactly as described. Very nce and modern dive centre, Marco speaks perfectly english. During this season dive centre is open only on weekends, but you are able to get a room for a night here. Price (nov 2022) is 10.000 Kwanza, well worth as it seemed to me the best safest spot from all recommended on iOverlander. First wanted to sleep in my camper at the parking place near the restaurant, but it didn't feel safe enough.
###up to date the price for a night 8.000.kz for One person camping, and for a single dive os 35.000.00kz double dive is 30.000.00 kz
###10.000. is for single person sleeping at the rooms , couple os 20.000.00kz

Very disappointed from this place. The owner or boss are not here since a long time, we asked the guard if it's possible to stay here and tell us is 5000 kw pp. We said is too much for what is it, the shower (cold of course) is outside open and everything it's in a bad condition... We negotiated for 3000 kw pp and he agreed. After we were installed, it was always people or kids around us. Later comes someone, und tell us we have to pay 10000 kw, discussion was not possible. We didn't accept and left. If we paid 10000 kw, we wanted at least a good shower and our peace, otherwise a bushcamp is better !

Guard call (with our mobile phone) to the boss, named Gervasio. They came and asked 10000 kw. (20 €) for 2 People and our Hilux Camper. No discussion. We did not accept. We left.

For Angolan standards a good place to camp for a day or 2. We could plug into shore power for a change and had access to a kitchen, cold shower and toilet. In front of the house is a nice little beach with an old ship wreck - a good snorkelling place. The rate was Kw8000 for 2 people and a van.

Everything what Geoffreythisis wrote about this place is 100% true. there is only a small at about the price. If you come with your own car and would like to stay for the night. the price is 4000 kwanza per car per night. the price is maybe a bit high but you can use everything for free; the fridge, the kitchen, a rains shower 😁, a very good European washing machine and they have 24/7 security. You also can fill up you water tanks. that makes the price more then reasonable! specialy with this view.

PADI certified dive instruction, with 4 ensuite rooms and small garden/ secure parking for camping possible.

Marco (the owner) speaks brilliant English is a certified PADI instructor. He is sometimes in Portugal with family so prebooking is (almost) essential!

A dive is 18,000K (we paid $30 based on current black market rate).

There is a small house with 4 ensuite (fan only) rooms (10,000 per room). The rooms are very clean andhouse comfortable, with a nice living room area. There is a kitchen available to cook your own food and fridge to cool your Cuca!

Camping is also possible on the driveway (behind a wall) with access to a shower and the outdoor kitchen/BBQ area (3000K).

The diving is very good, there is a ship wreck and reef right on the doorstep (literally). There is a variety of fish and coral and the equipment is excellent and very well maintained (and new- felt completely safe!) The beach is lovely and perfect for swimming, again right on the doorstep. Snorkeling is also possible (and very very good) using their equipment.

We would strongly recommend this place but you need to phone Marco beforehand. Marco is on WhatsApp. His number is (+244)941288300.
