Description

The First Station is a huge parking lot with a free shuttle bus to Dung Gate (8 am - 8 pm).
With a foreign registered car you are not able to pay the parking fee.
But before the paid parking area there are some free parking spaces where we stayed for two nights and slept in the car, because we found no other camping place close to the town.
During the day it can be difficult to get a free space, during night in the early morning it is easy.
Restaurants and supermarket are nearby

Still works very well. Arrived at 7pm, parking lot attendant waved me in right away, I drove back to those 20 free parking spaces and was free to choose a parking lot. Good breakfast and public restrooms at First Station (nice restaurant area). Old town can also be reached on foot in 20 minutes.

free shuttle from here takes you to the dung gate, which is the Western wall access. just a few big rig spots.
