Description

Gorgeous bit of paradise, with access to a private section of the lake. Caretakers are Silvia and Alvin who live above, but keep to themselves. Great place to swim and relax under shade after some days on the road. We stayed three nights, and were initially quoted 25Qpp but negotiable. Slept with the sounds of the lake and beautiful cool breeze, very few mosquitos while we were there. Highly recommend.

Beautiful lake swimming spot after crossing the border. Simple bathrooms, no working shower, but no one was around and we were able to go skinny dipping. Nice family runs the place. Paid 40Q 2 adults 2 kids.

This is a busy site, many guests and fishermen
If you managed the stairs you have a minimal maintained beach with a beautiful view and good vibes. Toilet is ok- shower we did not found
Good place, friendly people- nice for ONE night & day for 15 q pp
Lots of puppies, cats, chickens and monkeys- they are friends with the family- not afraid from the peeps (:

We ended up staying here for a week, we really loved the beauty of this place and of course the price per night at 15 Qtz helps as well. We camped down at the lake, it gets crowded in the weekends and the owners played music all night. We survived that and enjoyed the rest of the time.

Super friendly people, we camped here for 2 nights after crossing the border in El Ceibo. We found a great spot to pitch our tent in the shade, nice stairs down to the lake, we had the whole place to ourselves at night... there are chickens running around everywhere, we wanted to buy eggs but they gave them to us for free!
We paid QTZ 15 pp/pn, which is probably as cheap as you can find around here!
Highly recommend spending a night or 2 (or more) relaxing here!

This place was a perfect retreat after having crossed the border earlier in the day. If you cross at el ceibo in the am, you have plenty of time to make it to this camp. The caretaker's family was super pleasant and the lake is absolutely beautiful! We did not use the showers... curt said the bathrooms were average. It is a lot of stairs to get down to the water, but it is worth it!
