Uganda
we arrived late evening wanting to ask for permission to park on the entrance parking for the night.
surprisingly we were allowed to enter and camp anywhere on the grass for free, only the botanical garden fees to pay :
10 000 per foreign adult
2 000 per child above 5
2 000 per car
the entrance ticket is valid for the next day also, so we spent the whole morning there.
there is a restaurant close to the lake. you can park there but have to pay for the security guy (don't know how much) if you want to spend the night.
we slept in the grass between the trees. obviously very quiet except for birds noises.
there are toilets inside the garden as well.
We don't have any photos of this place yet.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We camped one night here as the ferry was full, and we had to wait till the morning to cross - no amenities but beautiful garden, very quiet, lots of birds …on the shores of the lake
Report Check-InThe botanic garden on itself is not really special. It's more an park where you can relax (and party).
But there is some nice camping grounds along the lake side. After 19 o'clock everybody leaves and it's quite.
No water available.
Dirty drop toilet.
No facilities.
Paid 40.000 for two adults and two children and 20.000 for the guards.
Report Check-InAsked for 10.000 for camping at any place, so we payed. Then said for camping it’s another 70.000 for us four. Showed us a „super nice“ place at the lake which turned out to be the parking lot of a small restaurant. We choosed another place, guy pointed to a house where we could use toilet and shower. But: No shower, toilet a longdrop, never ever seen something more run down, flies everywhere.
We left, he refuses to return the money that we already payed, told us that is the entrance fee and we entered. Told us with a smile it’s valid the next day, so we can visit the garden again. For me: Scam!
Report Check-InStayed here two nights in the lower gardens. It gets busy with school trips etc and even more so at weekends. Entrance fee + camping fee comes to 50,000pn. The gardens are beautiful but strewn with rubbish.
Report Check-Inwe stayed here 4 nights. In the weekends they are a lot of people and it can be noisy during the day. We paid 25.000 for park entry and 30.000 for camping per day for 3 persons.
