About 500 feet after the BLM land “fence”
Was able to get here with low-ish clearance and 2WD. Make sure to go at least to the BLM fence otherwise you are on private land. This is a beautiful little hill that looks over white sands national park and both mountain ranges. Stars are incredible. This is a shooting range. Lots of garbages.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Awesome place. Go past the BLM green fence on the dirt road and then multiple campsites available. Great views
Report Check-InWe got there at sunset. The view is gorgeous. The place sucks thought. Lot of garbages everywhere. A dead cow carcasse. This is a shooting range. 3 bars AT&T. Woudn’t come again.
Report Check-InNarrow one lane road up, but easy to navigate in my CRV. Decent amount of trash, but not too much glass. Only saw one other truck at 4 am, otherwise just us. Beautiful view of the valley and the mountains. Fantastic sunset.
Report Check-InRoad is rough and narrow but it’s a nice wild camp spot, quiet. Lots of broken glass around from I assume target practice.
Report Check-InNo one else here. Made it up here in my Promaster. Yes casings and broken glass. But a very nice place to spend the night.
Report Check-InPLEASE IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIRES, DON'T COME HERE. There's enough glass here broken on all the pullout spots that you could melt it down and create a replica Taj Mahal out of it. All photos are from multiple different pull outs along the road, not just one camp site.
Report Check-InRoad in is definitely rough and has some steep banks, but passable even for a 22ft 2wd shuttle bus. Be aware that BLM rangers frequently patrol this area for "campsite compliance" checks, as they stopped in on our camp and then continued past us up the road.
Report Check-InDefinitely find your spot here before dark. Did fine during daylight with a 2-wheel drive Sprinter.
Report Check-InAs said it does get rougher the farther you go after the pass the fence
Report Check-InNo one is out here. Very peaceful. Roads are somewhat rough, but they looks like they’ve been patched recently and our 158wheel base dually sprinter made it out fine. Primitive. Wouldn’t recommend for an RV. Would be awesome for a 4WD. Tons of glass and ammo casings around. (Typical BLM) pick up after yourselves.
Report Check-InWe arrived in the afternoon and followed the way a bit more further. Great view over the valley and the White Sands. In the night cold and windy. Not for big rigs, possible for 2WD. A Pick-up with a big Rig got stuck on the way. There are a lot of small dirty pathes with a lot of opportunities to park for the night.
We stayed 2 nights, nobody bothered us.
