Something not right?

Description

Lovely sites alongside lake. Says to only camp in two designated spots with table and fire rings but old road not used and big rigs would be able to pull off from old rough road. Distant road noise minimal. Can drive through back onto highway as well.

Latest Check-Ins

Once you pull off the main road coming from the north, there is a small sign that states to camp in designated sites only. As others have pointed out, there are two sites on this loop. There are quite a few low-hanging branches. I had no issue in my high top van; however, I wouldn't attempt it with a big rig. Both sites were lakeside and neither had a signal with Verizon.

We stayed in the spot twice. There are two sites on this small loop. One is large with a picnic table. It's part of the Blue Mountain Wild Forest. The view is beautiful. No Verizon service. A lot of gnats. This wouldn't stop me from staying a third time. A gem.

Signs say camping in designated areas only. There are only 2 or 3 designated areas here and they’re first come, first served. They’re great though. Spots are on higher ground but directly on the lake. Picnic table. Fire ring. And free. Good luck snagging these spots in summer, though. I’m sure they go fast.

Report Check-In

We stayed at the first spot on the left. The road is rough but fine for 2WD. No Verizon signal, a few bars of AT&T. Wheelchair accessible picnic table, fire ring, and right on the water down a short steep embankment. The next spot down we saw was on the non-lake side and very muddy. There were definitely other non-designated spots that a van or small RV could pull off on the road.

Report Check-In

We do not agree that big rigs could park along the road. It was a narrow dirt road and no extra room for any vehicles to park along the side except one pull off that had a no camping sign. If the two designated spots are free, a big rig could fit in them.
