The friendly, bi-lingual and helpful staff at this hostel gave us great local tips and truly made us feel at home. It's in a peaceful part of town and includes a lovely courtyard and garden, perfect for lounging or working. The wifi is reliable, the food is yummy and economical and the bathrooms and showers are clean. You can either tent camp inside the courtyard for 50 Qs per person (which includes breakfast), or you can park outside the hostel for 50 Qs per person including breakfast (they have security cameras). The shared dormitories are 96 Qs person (includes breakfast). The private double room is 300 Qs (includes breakfast). They also have quadruple rooms too, and discounts for long stays.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Got here December 2nd and am leaving January 22nd.
Never had any issues being parked out front. Van is 25' long, though, so I had to park sideways along the sidewalk, behind the tree. Not level, which has been a bummer, but whatever.
The vibe in the hostel is perfect. Social but not party style, mellow, peaceful. Makes it easy to meet and make connections with people of all ages and various backgrounds. There have been literal children here, all the way to people in their 70s. The common opinion among those I've met is that this hostel is simply one of the best there is.
Staff is friendly and helpful. Showers are mostly hot. Laundry is available for 6Q/lb.
Food is generally good, but after NYE a new guy started cooking at night. I genuinely like him as a human being, but he has served me some of the worst food I've ever eaten, so if there's a shorter, older guy in the kitchen, who always wears a ball cap, stick to burgers and fries. Otherwise the grande quesadilla is large and super tasty, and the medium nachos are bigger than your head and easily good for two meals.
Great overall. Totally worth it.Report Check-In
It was 50 quetzlales per person to park your car up front & use the facilities. It was a very nice place & perfectly located. I would recommendReport Check-In
Brilliant spot for staying in Antigua. Friendly staff, excellent location and only 100Q per night for the vehicle. Can’t recommend it highly enough.Report Check-In
For 50q a night, this place is the best Antigua has to offer!
Amazing location, 15 minute walk to the best lookout point in town.
Amazing hot showers!
There is only a couple of spots for overlanders right outside the hostel. And my only issue is that if you need to use the toilet after 11, you have to wake the night security
guard up to let you in.
otherwise, it's amazing.
We loved staying here! Christian and the staff are so friendly and welcoming, they go above and beyond in every way. Clean and hot showers, strong wifi, and a close walk to everything in town. For a Sprinter 170", there's only one spot and we had to move the other cars to enter. Anything bigger would not likely fit.Report Check-In
This is one of the best places in 16 months of travelling. Great friendliness, excellent facilities, very reasonable price. I wished there were branches around Central America!Report Check-In
One of our favorite places on our journey so far! We stayed here 7 nights, highly recommended! Christian the owner is very friendly and likes to welcome overlanders. Also the whole stuff is very friendly. We parked in front of the hostel. The street is quiet at night and we felt safe all the time! If you need the restrooms during the night, the nightguard will open you the door! Good Breakfast included, good wifi, Ping pong, books, sofas, more than you need ;)!
Price is 50 Quetzal per person / night.
Antigua is a beautiful city to explore! Enjoy!!
Lovely hostel, hot showers, nice garden. Staff nice and owner Christian very kind! As we were too late for the free walking tour, he kindly offered to give us a small tour which was super nice! We parked our Chevy Van next to a big rig; and there was still space for 1 or 2 more. Recommended!Report Check-In
50Qpp clean facilities and the best hot showers, delicious free breakfast, lovely place to relax. Christian arranged our Acatenango hike. Recommended.Report Check-In
Best spot in Antigua! Only room for a couple of small rigs. We parked parallel to the building and our 22'9" rig with a rear carrier fit perfect. The Owner Christian is very professional and friendly. He booked our hike, arranged for Taxi to airport. His dog is nice, and our dog was allowed in the yard as well. At 50q per person, including breakfast it is a bargain. Spotless showers, restaurant on site, and walk to everything. We would stay here again for sure.Report Check-In
Parking spot outside backpackers hostel. Very kind and helpful owner. He offered to let us use his hose to fill out tank.
50/person includes breakfast from 7-10 supposedly. When we came to breakfast at 9, everything (eggs, pancakes and fruit) was finished. The cook seemed angry that she had to make more. This happened both days we were there.Report Check-In
Wonderful hostel. Well run. Great host. Lots of motorcycle parking in the courtyard. Pod style dorms.Report Check-In
Parking outside the hostel is free, but it’s worth paying the 50Q a night to have use of the hot showers, bathrooms, laundry machines, WiFi, and comfortable lobby area. Breakfast is included for that price. A short walk to the heart of historic Antigua, as well as the many shops, bars, restaurants, etc. The owners are very helpful. Tip: if the parking places in front of the hostel are filled up (as they were when we arrived), park on the mostly empty street around the corner. We only had to do that for one night before a spot opened up, but one Overlander said he’d been parked on that street (while still paying for and using the hostel’s facilities) for over a week.Report Check-In
This is a really friendly place, the owners Christian & Iris will help with recommendations for where to eat, things to see & next stops. They have a nice courtyard area with space for motorbikes inside, and parking spots outside the gate for vans. You can camp inside too. The food is tasty & good value. They have an awesome dog Luka, and there was a couple of other dogs there too from other travellers so it's pet friendly. The wifi is good, bathrooms clean too. There are also snacks, ping pong and seriously addictive choc chip cookies. Loved it here!Report Check-In
Very cool. How lucky r we to come into town on a Saturday night n find a spot here. Christian wonderful host n very accommadating! Speaks English serves food laundry. all right downtown in a convenient location?Report Check-In
Excellent place to stay, Staff was incredibly helpful with anything we needed, Lots of room inside to park motorcycles. We hiked/camped Volcán Acatenango and they let us leave our bags there over night.
Wifi is good, breakfast was good, showers are hot. The owner suggested some great places to check out.Report Check-In
we parked our camper for one night. just as other overlanders mentioned the hosts are lovely and super cool vibe. a must stay for any overlander looking to relax and enjoy the city.Report Check-In
We stayed here for two weeks with our camper van. You can park in front of the hostal and use all the facilites. The are is very secure. Chris and Iris are most friendly owners! We love our time here. 30Q per person in the van. Fast WIFI. Clean Toilets/showers. For us much better option than the police station!Report Check-In
We were there for a month plus, part of that time I was quite sick (picked up something in Mexico). Christian and Iris made me soup, rice, and vegetables that tasted so great I was actually hungry. Our motorcycles were parked in the hostal and were very secure. Antigua is beautiful and the owners are a wealth of information. Their staff were wonderful and helpful. The whole experience was wonderful. Breakfast is included with the room price and you can purchase lunch and dinner, both of which are excellent.Report Check-In
Stayed here again after our return trip home; good staff, wifi and hot showers. We parked outside; a little noisy in early morning as you are right on the street but quiet at night. Highly recommend especially after a few days in the police compound so you can shower.Report Check-In
We stayed in the dorm rooms for ~ 77Q each per night. Parked our truck outside, and although there is no security guard or gate, there are video cameras and it's a safe area of town. Iris helped us organize an overnight hike of Acatenango... We didn't want to go through a tour agency so she called Jamie (a local guide in La Soledad) and we got a private tour and saw amazing views, for only 175Q each! Much cheaper than big companies and the money goes right into the pockets of locals. Laundry service is expensive at 6Q per pound, and the volunteers who are running the reception aren't super helpful, but we loved the peaceful setting and tasty breakfasts. NEGATIVE: you have to pay 35Q to use the kitchen... Which seems weird, since it's a hostel. We opted for cheap street food instead of paying to cook our own food.Report Check-In
Very good place to stay in Antigua. You park on the road in front of the hostel but the area is quiet and the night guard keeps an eye on you. We stayed two nights and the first night was the night guard's night off which still felt safe but meant we couldn't use the toilets after 10 pm. Very nice owner. Clean bathrooms. Paid 30 Q per person.Report Check-In
Our 26' rig fit horizontally to the building under the tree. We paid 60q per night to camp per night for two. There is no electricity at sites so if you have solar panels, not great as you are under a tree and don't get full sun all day, but there are outlets in common area to charge things.Report Check-In
One of the nicest hostels I have stayed. parking for bikes. Christian and Iris are awesome. breakfast included. 250q private room. 90q for dorm.Report Check-In
1 person, 1 dog in private room - 150. He may consider allowing in a dorm if the dog is quiet and well behaved. awesome place!Report Check-In

Parked and camped on the street right in front of the hostal one night for 30 Quetzales per person (60Q total). Access to wi-fi, restrooms and showers. Noisy at night without much privacy as it's next to the road. Tent camping inside the property is 50 Q per night per person and includes breakfast. The owners are very nice and the hostal is very nice.Report Check-In
Christian and iris are so nice that it is hard to leave that place! we stayed there 2/weeks, sleeping in the van in front of the hostal for 60Q for 2. Christian speaks a perfect English and will give you tones of information's about Antigua and Guatemala. nice garden and hot showers, very clean ! breakfast for 20Q and a little restaurant too. in downtown so it is easy to walk everywhere! it is noisy at night during the week end because of wedding party but it is really not that bad. very pet friendly!! love this place!!Report Check-In
