Staying here for one night at the end of November. Large campground, quiet, still lots of sites available. We stayed in loop H, which is FCFS. Loops A, B, C are reservations. Don't know what happened to loops D thru G, they don't exist. $20 with power, $10 for tents, max 7 days. Nice clean washrooms, no showers. Seems to be alot to do in the area and Tucson is very close
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Large campsite in Saguarro National Park. Some sites are more cramped than others. Popular spot and reservations are required. Sites include electric supply. Also, flush toilets but no shower facilities. Also, sanitary dump and water available. Stayed only one night but would come back again for longer. Lots to do in the area.
Report Check-Inarrived during high season at 10:30 p.m
I got a sice for a long time as I wanted, but I had to change one time the site.
A loop for 35 USD.
Was planning to stay for 2 nights ended up staying 3. Could have easily spent more time at this beautiful, clean campground. It feels like camping amongst the desert plants. Nice to have electric since warmer weather is here. Being located in the Tucson Mountain Park there is hiking and biking from the campsite. Friendly staff. Will make sure to come back again for a longer time.
Report Check-InOn c loop, # 27. 23 ft camper. Able to back in and leave SUV hooked up. we'll out of the road.
Staying 3 nights. Spectacular surroundings of all varieties of cactus, including Saguaro. Each site is separated by Soap Berry and cactus and mounded up naturally occuring landscape. On this Mar 11th day, temp is 75° , light breeze. views of mountains and cacti. extremely well run park. my conversations included changing reservations a month or so ago. The person on the phone at Pima City were extremely patient and helpful. Very glad to be here and would definitely return.
Great place to stay, nice people running the campsite and other campers.
This place does get really busy so if you want a first come first serve site I recommend arriving early in the morning to put your name down as soon as the office opens. Check out time is 11am so you may be waiting in the office for an hour or two to see if you get a spot. Also the first come first serve spots are $20 for vans (they don't allow vans in tent spots though I did see a truck bed mounted pop up tent in a tent spot).
Pima County Park Loop H is first come, first serve. Usually full but we pulled in by 8am and was 2nd on the list for the day. Stayed at the BLM the night before. Great sites, no showers but hot water in large tub that was a decent substitute. Friendly group. 20 mins to Tucson, 5 to the Desert Museum, 7 to Saguaro National Park with plenty of hiking around.

Report Check-InBeautiful campground in Pima county, actually called Gilbert Ray Campground. Registered at office, $20/night. Gorgeous views with various types of cacti and beautiful sunsets. Watch for mice, there’s tons. Need to buy colored flashing lights as a deterrent.
Report Check-Inhuge campground. loop H is first come first serve. 20$, safe, quiet, awesome sunset and close to trailheads of mountain park and nationalpark. potable water and dump station available. no showers
Report Check-InWhat a great place. Each spot is kinda private. Surrounded by large saguaros and mesquite trees. Nice bathrooms. Water and dump station. Only $20 per night! Hidden gem out in the middle of the desert.
Report Check-InA large, SW county cg with beautiful desert plants, mountain views, millions of stars at night. We stayed here a few years ago and came back for the saguaro beauty. We rarely pay for camping, but this place is worth $20 for the quiet, darkness, respectable people, and the cleanliness. There are only 7 tent sites. Flush toilets, trash and recycling bins, hot water sink for dishes or washing your hair, and water and electric at every site with great water pressure. Charcoal fires only, no wood, and very few sites have a cooking grill, I think only loop H has them. DA lot of trails to hike or mbike. One can stay 7 nights. The winding, mountain road in is so pretty.
Report Check-InGreat option near entrance of west saguaro national park and the desert museum. Good views from campsites. Strong t mobile signal. No showers.
Report Check-Invery quiet..10$for camping reserve online.. water and bathrooms..no showers. I had my minivan camper and a tent..so I got the camping rate..you can stay 7 days.. leave for 7 and stay another 7. lots of hiking close by.
Report Check-InDrove into Gilbert Ray late in the afternoon on Wednesday. Located lots of first come first serve spots that accommodated my 35’ 5th wheel (H-11). Campground is clean and quiet and very closer to Saguaro Park.
Report Check-InGilbert Ray CG is a great campground close to Saguaro NP with amazing mountain biking/hiking trails. The trails are accessed from the CG. We planned on staying one night but decided on another just to enjoy the mountain biking. Electric at the sites, water is available as well as a dump station. Restrooms here as well although we didn’t use them. It’s a peaceful park with Gamble’s Quail, Phainopepla, and other birds all around. The coyotes serenaded everyone early this morning as well.
Report Check-InBeautiful campground in the hills west of Tucson. Very crowded. No wood fires permitted. We stayed 2 nights. This place is a bit of a drive from Tucson.
Report Check-InOnline as well as the sign posted within the campground states that H Loop is first come first served, however this is not the case. Even if a spot in H loop is unoccupied, you cannot merely park in the unoccupied spot and walk to the office to register. You must first stop at the office and sign up on a list to reserve a place in line, even if you are the only camper physically present. Beautiful campground but I left instead of wait for hours until they released vacant sites in the first come first served loop and began calling people on the list. Pima County must change their website and signs within the campground to make this clear. I went elsewhere
Report Check-InStayed for a week at this nice campground with fantastic mountain views, we're leaving for one week to comply with their booking rules and then we're returning for another week! We lucked out getting in. $20/night for a site with electric, perfect for our van although there were plenty of larger rigs and car campers too. Very clean restrooms. Book as far ahead as possible! I give it five stars.
Report Check-InAll the Loop A sites occupied during Xmas week. Nice sites, 30 and 50 amp power only, water along the loop and potable water separate from the double dump station. Used this as a staging area when visiting Tucson. Will return again, great views and hiking. No RVs over Gates Pass. Sandario and Kinney Roads are being repaved as is Speedway between Camino del Oeste and Greasewood.
Report Check-InBeautiful location, plan on staying the seven day limit. Few real tents sites, make reservations
Report Check-InCurrently we were told you must make reservations 72 hours in advance of your stay or stay on the H loop first come first served. We were able to find a spot mid-week in December but it was pretty full. Note that parking in any non designated camping incurs a steep fine.
Report Check-InBeautiful campground closest to Saguaro National Park West. They have a newish online res system we couldn’t figure out, but we were able to pick out a site upon arrival and self pay at the kiosk the first night. Tried to do it again the second night and everything had reserved stickers on it. Reservation system definitely needs work. Clean bathrooms, good portable water, easy dump. Great views for sunset and sunrise.
Report Check-InPrice for all RVs, including any type of van, is $20. No tent camping allowed with a van. No showers, only benefit is flush toilets. That said, it is pretty.
Report Check-InLovely quiet campground with immaculate washrooms. Price based on your desire to use electricity on the site: 20$ with, 10$ without. We were staying in a tent & paid 20 to use it. Behind the washroom is a sink with running hot water for washing dishes.
Very conveniently located close to the Saguaro NP main attractions. Good cell reception with Verizon
No complaints! Easy to find. Huge fine for sleeping on the road. So, this was the best choice.
Report Check-InVery busy campground but also very little noise. Lots of bugs at night. Many hikes in the area. $20 for RV camping
Report Check-InVery clean and quiet CG (no generators). Dark skies for star gazing. Clean bathrooms with large sink on backside for cleaning (hot water). No reservations, 7 day limit. Pulled in on a Saturday evening and found a spot. $10 tent/$20 RV (includes electric hookup).
Report Check-InSúper quiet and it was empty at this time of the year we will be here for 1-2 nights
Report Check-InSame prices. Electric hook-up on each site. You need to move for water and dump. Restrooms only. No showers. Quiet. Good cellular reception.
Report Check-InAs described: tents 10 $, RV's 20 $. No generators allowed. Only 5 tents sites which have no shelter. Some RV sites have shelter. Unfortunately you can't choose the site you like any more but have to take the one they give you.
Report Check-InVery nice place to stay while visiting Tucson. Because it is a 20 minute drive to town, and we had a lot of repairs and errands to do before crossing the boarder, we rented a car for 17 usd per day. Generally Tucson is a good place to get items repaired. But no showers
Report Check-InBeautiful campgound at the entrance of West Seguaro NP. Tent 10$ RV 20$.
