Beautiful spot! Nice, flat, isolated. It is very hard to get to. A 4x4 is absolutely necessary. But once you’re here it is amazing! Great cell service

quiet flat spot with a couple of fire pits and amazing lake views. But definitely need 4x4 to get here. My F-150 was fine but not without a couple of rock. scrapes.
Report Check-InAwesome place to overlook the lake. Tough to get to even with 4x4. Lots of noise from the Apache trail road with traffic but still a great place.
Report Check-InGreat spot, isolated. Road isn’t as bad as described but 4x4 still necessary. Rebuilt the fire pit. Awesome views of the lake at sunset. Only negative is the Motorcycles in the canyon late at night echoing.
Report Check-InAmazing view over the water, stunning. Definitely need high clearance 4x4. A stock 4x4 would do it. The road out here is short, 1/3-mile, but is steep and chunky and not really technical. 1-3 bars of verizon 3G-good for texting only. The downside…super busy over the weekend as the area is stunning so everyone from the phx valley cruises this road by day. After nightfall the sportscars show up and rip through. Four showed up after midnight and did laps back and forth for over 2-hours. Over 3-nights here 2 vehicles were taken out on a flatbed that were totaled. Things certainly calmed down today but was ready for a different spot. Additionally there are 5-power wires from the damn that were close so if youre sensitive it may be problematic. Still an amazing place though and would return midweek only.
Report Check-Innice spot.. requires 4x4 as others stated
I wouldn't come here if it may rain as you may get flooded in
Checked out this place on my atv, there is a part of the road that is tougher than normal and I say that because all the road out there takes a 4x4 with clearance but this campsite unlike the lower canyon site has a spot where you can see the road has been kinda washed out so you come down a hill and have to go back up a hill to get to the site and there is kinda a V there where I would personally feel I might tear off or bottom out my rear bumper on my Tacoma and definitely couldn’t get my trailer there.
