Great spot to spend a couple of nights. Found a couple of old gold caves and abandoned cars. Spot isn’t on the map. DO NOT DRIVE TO JOSEPHINE CREEK. path is dangerous, people on the path will approach car while you try to turn around. Go to the pin.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Beautiful spot down by a shallow river. Only one other set of campers out here and the we’re leaving as I pulled in. Much cleaner and feels safer than other spots in the area. The location IS on the map. Drive up as close to the pin then when you see the fork, go down te left one. 1 bar Verizon. Slow. Only worth the long and sketchy drive if you’re staying more than 1 day honestly.
Report Check-InAmazing spot! We drove down the road to the river and parked there. Room for one maybe two vehicles, but be careful not to block the road, there were a handful of vehicles that drove past us through the river. One guy said he had a gold mine claim on the other side. It was very quite for us, no teenagers or any other campers to deal with, we were here midweek, wondering if that makes a difference. Glad we came, love setting up the RTT right by the river.
Report Check-InRoad is rough and steep drop off right before you get here but doable. Unfortunately as beautiful as a spot this could be we encountered a ton of trash, a huge rattlesnake 5 feet from our van, teenagers who showed up after us and literally tried to take over the spot by telling us they had a party planned there and started partying and didn’t leave till we threatened to call the cops because they were all underage. Next morning we had homeless people asking us when we were leaving. This place could be so great but we got tired of being harassed and moved on.
Report Check-InGreat spot! Room for several camp spots. We got or 24ft rv to this spot. It took about 40 minutes. For us the road was not that bad. Just had to go slow. Smaller vehicles would not have any issue at all. Nice and quit pretty river. Cell service was ok.
Report Check-InThis was our favorite spot we’ve ever camped at! We have a 23’ class C RV and we made it to this spot, but anything bigger would probably struggle. The road keeps going over the river. We saw many Jeeps and trucks pass it to camp on the other side of the river.
Decent cell service and lots of privacy.
The river is crystal clear and we saw lots of crawdads and frogs! We also saw deer and a tadpole pond nearby.
If the road gets too difficult for your rig, there’s plenty of camping before this spot.
Report Check-In20 mins from the bridge on a windy dirt road, but once you get to there it’s so worth it and awesome. You can park by the river and swim. I got full cell service too.
