Description

Beautiful Lodge inside Liwonde Natl Park, with camping, chalets, tree houses, nice luxury clean pool, open windows with perfect mosquito nets, lounge price includes food, 20 a night for camping and all 3 meals, pork chicken fish veggies coffee free all day, and best of all is Malawiana couple San and Lani are super kind and all about customer service and best yet, they give back to the village nearest them, they have built 25 homes thus far for villages, and all local hires.
Great settling in creek feeding Shire river, awesome place, negotiate and very far, a very bushy place (Kutchire means jungle and or bushy), and natural and awesome, compared to other places in Liwonde Natl Park more dry and hot and less shade and bushy. Also, this place is for solo travelers, couples and families, all modern and done in last 4 years.

Latest Check-Ins

It's a nice place as set out below. Prices have gone up, I guess due to covid and food/energy costs. I paid 30k for a dorm bed and a private room was (I think) 50. Full board with decent food. Game drive and boat trip now 25k each. Park fee $30.
I had the dorm to myself and when another group came they put them in a different dorm, so you might get lucky. I got sick and stayed an extra day and they were helpful.
The game drive is 6-9am and the boat trip 3-6pm, so if you time it right you can stay one night and do both tours for about 110k total, and you'll see a LOT of wildlife.

The tree houses were not available in rainy season. We stayed in the dorm.
The site is asking the river with the park at the other side of the river. Animals visit the camp and you can see them from one of the viewing decks.
The staff is nice and friendly. It's full board so you get all meals. The meals are well prepared. There is self catering for extra drinks.

Just after we left Cyclone Anna hit the place. I think there will be a lot of damage.

18.000 pppn, full board, children half price

Report Check-In

We tried to camp but at this moment not possible due to damage. Maybe in future ?

A very nice place to stay with the most friendly staff you can imagine!
Also very reasonable priced. No camping allowed because of the lions, but dorms K18000 pppn and chalet K35000 pppn, full board so breakfast/lunch/dinner included. Very good food! And they make a nice fire.
we stayed at the tree house.

It's off the grid so electricity can be poor. Also running water can be off... but they make the best of it.

gamedrive and boattrip higly recommended! K18000pp each.
