Description

BLM above Rachel with views towards Area 51. We came up here to spend a quiet night away from town and off the highway enough to not be noticed and to escape the heat a little more. The Lil Ale Inn was closed this night and they were having a local's birthday party. The highway got very quiet at night, stars were great and the lights and planes of Area 51 started around midnight. No services. There was a fire ring but we didn't use it. Watch out for fire ants!

2-3 bars ATT LTE. Make a left at the first fork and camp up on the hill. Sunset & silence.

cold quiet night. one bar of Verizon 4g was intermittent. got here in the dark and initially missed the turn to the upper area, the path looked overgrown in the darkness. main area is large open area just right of the west side of hwy 375. dirt road continues from SW corner, about 100 feet down that is the left turn up a small rise to a smaller circular lot with the view.

Close to the highway with a few options if it's a busy night (but was empty labor day weekend). At the pull off follow the dirt track to an intersection and then go left at the fork, up the hill for the best site, with a firepit and view. No trash or toilet paper I could find! If you're headed east be sure to check out the very cute and fun Lil ale inn for breakfast, bottomless coffee, and great people.

the spot served us well. definitely head to the upper location as described by others. easy to get to, nice and flat and there was Verizon/visible mobile cell service. Google fi did not have service.

Great place to camp! We turned right off the highway, drove 100 meters or so and the took the first left for another 500 meters. Weather was perfect, even a little chilly at night—stayed chilly until about 8 am. Beautiful spot with a fire ring and plenty of space. Very quiet

Report Check-In

Decent spot. Fire ring. Quiet being that the highway has little traffic.

Report Check-In

We came here based on the previous entry but because we arrived at night, and the dot wasn't quite at the right spot, we didn't keep driving up to the spot with the view. either way it's a good place to spend the night, but our advice is go past the big flat turn out right off the road, and up to the second turnaround that has a fire pit and the amazing view. no services at any kind, including no cell service, but a great place to spend the night.
