Great dispersed area with nice shaded and wild life. Please remember to tread lightly. Watch out for after snow season as Mud and water run off can get your camper stuck.
Report Check-Inthe road is vurrently closed. I camped on the the road that turns of to the right of 4 mile creek. quite rough but youll be fine if you go slow. two campsites at the first two switchbacks
Report Check-InStayed one night at one of the first few spots. Pretty much as described. there's a right turn before these coordinates that takes you onto the other side of fourmile creek which has more spots to camp. Cold at night. Great views of sunlit peak and close to Glenwood Springs. Good starting point for the west elk scenic loop.
Report Check-InAbout 30 mins from Glenwood. Only 3 spots open as the road is closed. This might be a seasonal thing. Please note this is a high altitude camp spot. Be prepared for cold nights. There is quite a bit of trash around. I picked up 3 bags worth. Also lots of human waste. If you stay here please keep it clean. Pack it out. Or at the least, bury your waste if you're not going to pack it out. Other than that this it was a nice spot. I felt lucky to score one of the 3 on a week day. Lots of cars came looking but had to go back down.
Report Check-InIf you’re looking to stay closer to Glenwood Springs and want a boondocking site, this is the only option we could find. It’s a beautiful drive down 4 Mile Road. You will have to them right onto the dirt road into the National Forest. It’s quite a drive to get to some decent camp spots but worth the drive.
