Description

This lookout is jaw dropping when the weather is clear. Take the FR from the work camp off US-101. Drive up is about 7 miles, doable in 2WD if it’s not too muddy. There’s a spectacular observation deck and picnic table at the top. Pit toilet, decent cell service.

Omg this place is amazing!😍 I really didn’t want to go there, because you have to drive through the forest for about 30 minutes on a road with potholes and fallen rocks, but the view from the top is worth it. Very good signal of Verizon.

A swarm of Black Horse Flies rules this domain 🪰 Great view, but didn’t get 20ft before getting lit up by these fuckers. 4 bars Verizon at the top. Some deep potholes along the way but doable in 2wd, just take it slow. Happy trails!

Wish more time could be spent here! Picnic table pit toilet and epic lookout all to yourself! Some people rode through at 730 and 110am but other than that no one around. No trash clean spot great att signal. The road isn’t that bad ol 2wd ram van made it no problem

Really beautiful lookout! The road going up is in good shape for most vehicles, took the moto up with no issues.

After you’ve turned off the 101 onto West Snider Road drive for a minute until you see the sign for 3040, hang a left and go up. We found an alternate route back down on the motorcycles. Super fun day

Amazing views of the mountain range and a peak of Creasant Lake. Picnic table and pit toilet are functional. Nothing is posted on the board.

About an 8 mile drive up a narrow dirt road. It was very wet and there are some decent size ruts. Vehicle with clearance recommended. We got the view I'm the first day but were in the cloud the second day. Very surreal to know the view is there but only see white cloud and mist! Both me and traveling partner had service, me with AT&T and her with Verizon.

I'm hoping the weather clears up. I made it here in my honda civic. definately doable. the potholes are fine but the wave dips in the road is a little challenging. don't need a 4 wheel drive. just take it slow and easy

The road up is definitely rough in some spots - my AWD Forester made it ok but wouldn’t recommend attempting in a 2WD or RV. The view at this spot is INSANE! There’s plenty of room for 2-3 tents, a v clean pit toilet and a platform/viewing deck. We only saw 2 other cars the entire time - we are absofuckinglutely cumming back to this spot some day :)

This place is amazing you’ll camp up in the clouds with your own pot toilet Up at the lookout. the road in was 7 miles of dirt and took about 35 minutes but it’s easy driving and almost any car will make it, I got my 2 Wheel Drive Volkswagen Westfalia up it no problem.

FYI: Tried to drive up this road but it was very narrow, even for a van, few turnouts, steep and quite roughl.
