Description

We found this truckstop randomly on Atlas Obscura and 10/10 recommend making the stop if you’re headed through IA on I80. It’s 3 stories and just about as ridiculous as a truckstop can be! We stayed one night and actually got a decent night sleep despite the usual generator noise. The truckstop itself has several eating options including a dine in restaurant and it’s fun to walk around and look at all the random stuff they have put in - like a full size semi with a mural painted on the side. Or head upstairs to check out the chiropractor and dental office inside.

Absolutely amazing and a must see if you're traveling on I80. Noisy but easy to catch some sleep here. Huge truck stop and the trucking museum next door. Luxury $16 showers, worth it. Huge laundry facility as well. Lots of food options.

Clean, safe, bit loud but turn on a noise on your phone we slept right through with no issue. Plenty of food choices inside and plenty of seating if you just want out of your vehicle for a while. We enjoyed the movie theater

Slept here last night in the parking lot next to idling trucks and some truck campers. We were in a roof top tent and no one bothered us, seemed perfectly safe—safer than a Walmart or a Rest Area. We also stopped in for breakfast and some merch from the World’s Largest Truck Stop. Definitely recommend for a quick overnight.

The truck stop was not the average rest area. The inside of the truck stop was like a mall, with clean bathrooms and many food options. They had a little gift shop as well as refrigerated snacks. Then you had Taco Bell, Dairy Queen, Pizza Hut, Wendy’s and a local restaurant buffet. The whole experience and people there was most enjoyable. Th -e only downside was some inconsiderate person/ people was Jake- braking early in the morning. Quite rude if I say so myself. If you don’t get there early enough than you might not get a parking spot. I would also like to talk about the lighting. There were bright parking lights, But Overall very clean and nice, I would give it a 4/5 star review.

Plenty of parking spots, stayed busy all night. Free wifi if you park close to the building. Decent Verizon & TMobile coverage.

We had a nice peaceful night here. We parked closer to the semis and their idling noise was peaceful. There is no dump station here. The laundry facility was the nicest, cheapest one we’ve used all trip. About $2.50 to wash and dry a load. A nice place to stop and look around.

As described. There is a side where RVs tend to park, just a bit away from the semi trucks. We drive through the truck parking and wow - they advertise over 900 truck parking spaces and it was packed. The RV side had a few trucks, many trucks with pull behinds, some RVs and vans. Inside the bathrooms are clean. They have everything you might need for supplies for a vehicle, multiple food options and clean bathrooms. There was generator noise but it was constant and not offensive. It felt safe to sleep here. Got a great night of rest.

Great place to stay the night, but don’t forget to cover your windows as there is a lot of light pollution.

Definitely recommend a stop here, it’s quite a sight to be seen. I’ve never seen so many semi trucks all in one place in my life. There is a huge store where you can find any random thing you need for road life. I also got a good night sleep here despite the hundred idling engines.

As described and worth the stop! Lots of amazing antique restored trucks.
