Nice grassy area at the road from Toche to Salento. Viewable from the road, but not busy. Great view over the valley. Very quiet.

what an incredible spot! it is at the end of the ugliest section coming up from toche so feels like a reward. best wild camping spot in Colombia for us so far.
Report Check-Ina pleasant, safe and quiet space to spend the night or nights, a spectacular view and space for an improvised bonfire.
Report Check-InSpacious pull out with grass. Very quiet place, there is not much traffic. Nice view of the valley.
Report Check-InWe spend a quiet night on the very bad road from Toche to Salento , definitiv 4x4 needed
Report Check-InBasically a very large grassy pullout, but nice option, with nice views. Road not busy, high clearance needed. No Claro reception.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot to park or Camp on a grassy área. stayed two days and we Saw some Cars, but not a lot, also some people walking and horses. the views here are good. not a lot of places to puño over in the Road, so It was perfect.
about the Road, you better ask first in town if was raining last days, cause It could be really wet and mudy. we did It with 2wd combi VW T2 without any problem. few places were a bit difficult but double. enjoy the wax Palms a lot a the stars at night, and also the fog comming trow the valley.
such a beautiful valley, BUT the road is barely suitable for 2wds now. We got this far from Salento without any problems and loved the wax palms. But there are two stretches of road near this marker which are hellishly muddy at the moment. Our Sprinter which hadn't required a tow in a year needed two tows in an hour.
We had read about how the hike at Cocora gets turned into a mudbowl, but found it pretty dry. we assumed these dry conditions would extend to this road, but it didn't.
We asked in Salento and perhaps because the patches of mud is closer to Toche, no one warned us against the road.
Report Check-InAmazing views. Peaceful camp spot. Almost no vehicles passed by. Just some horses, and kids walking to school the next morning. The road takes a long time so we slept 2 nights, here and the pine forest (called Salento-Toche on ioverlander), which made the drive relaxing and fun - great views most of the way!
Report Check-InGreat place to stay overnight if dry weather conditions!
Recommend to drive from Salento to Toche (less steep)
Very nice place, great view and quiet at night. Would recommend 4x4 during wet season to get out of wet grass...
Report Check-InReally lovely. We arrived after dark when heading from the south east end, as we got stuck behind endless trucks on the main Carjamarca-Armenia road - so take that into consideration (took us 1.5 hours to do 50km!). Anyway, it's really peaceful and quiet here despite being right on the roadside. The road between Carjamarca and Salento is a typical country road. Clearance did help, and you might need power to get up some of the steeper corners, if you tend to slip on rockier surfaces. Glad we did it - gorgeous countryside.
Report Check-InBeautiful place! And definitely the quietest wild camping spot we've visited on the trip. Some horses went by in the afternoon and morning but other than that it was just us. Incredible views of the valley.
Report Check-InThe known tourist Cocora Valley has nothing to envy the beautiful drive from Salento to Toche , don't miss out on seeing thousands of Palm trees with no tourist around !!! 4x4 is not required but high clearance is recommended
Report Check-InNice grassy area at the road from Toche to Salento. Great view over the valley. Very quite.
