Something not right?

Description

This is an abandoned short road on the river. It is between a manufacturing plant and a bridge but the noise never bothered us. Very few people use this place during the day for fishing or putting kayaks in the river. There are no signs posted so we stayed 2 nights without any problem. This location is close to downtown St. Joseph and beaches. We pulled our rig right up to the river during the day then moved at night, tucked behind some trees. There is also train tracks nearby but rarely heard it go by.

Un belle endroit mais il y a quand même du bruit.

Report Check-In

Abandon lot. Quiet except the train that goes by every so often. Keep clean and Injoy

Report Check-In

came in around 10:30 pm and just had the knock around midnight from the local P.D. saying there is an ordinance against people camping out here

Report Check-In

Quiet and peaceful considering the location. Got in late and just finished dinner outside my Stella Blue.

Report Check-In

somewhat secluded, quiet for considering being near a bridge, manufacturing plant and train tracks

Report Check-In

Big bonfire space, very large area with lots of available parking. Access to the river. Chemical restrooms available. Easy to find. Not very quiet with the train, highway and boats but OK for 1 night.

This place has a good sized parking lot for rvs. I camped near the beach by the St. Joseph river. There is a port a potty near the plant and a little kayak shack. I pitched a tent and had a small camp fire near the beach. I saw 2 other people, one was fishing and the other stayed parked. I saw a few police cars patrolling and had no issues. I heard the train's horn once in the distance around 2 am. Most of the noise came from the cars hitting the bridge deck, west of me, however I slept fine. I hope this info is valuable to the readers.
Thank you for reading, keep exploring, stay sharing. 🙏

A surprisingly nice spot within the city. Very flat and not much wind due to the hill from the bridge. Very clean of trash which was awesome! Full bars of LTE (Verizon) loads music and videos instantly. Essentially on a small beach. Very pretty at night. Short walk to some restaurants. Didn’t see anyone except a couple of truckers. Didn’t hear much noise from the road or the plant.

Like others have said, this is an old abandoned street. It’s near West Basin Marina and a lighthouse. We felt safe and comfortable here. Lots of room for our truck camper. Easily fits bigger rigs too. Lots of them. Spent one night. 4 bars AT&T. Local tv channels.

great place, beach is nice and relaxing. filled up a trash bag from previous attendants, please leave this site clean :)

Report Check-In

As described. Had a pretty relaxed sleep here. Area is well lit but no direct light where you park. Train helped me get up at 8am

Loved this spot. I got in the water to cool down, sat on some rocks in the river, and watched the boats sail by. Very peaceful. I slept on the abandoned road because I didn’t feel comfortable cornering myself in that little spot between the trees. There was a semi truck parked behind me also sleeping. There’s a tiny bar 4 minutes away called Chatterbox with amazing burgers! Highly recommend.

Report Check-In

Definitely a nice little spot. Couple shaded parking spots. Super close to the River which has a nice little beach. So far pretty quiet. Couple people walking their dogs. And a couple people fishing.

Report Check-In

It was as described - a nice spot tucked away from just about everything. It’s out of view of the road, and far enough away from the manufacturing plants to reduce light. The coordinates make it a bit tough to find - It’s at the end of upton drive, where it runs into the water, across from a sign for the lefarge plant across the street. It’s very remote and quiet.

Report Check-In

Back at this spot. Came to the dirt circle at the end of the street. Stayed a night and it was quiet with no problems!

Report Check-In

This is a great location. Stayed on a Wednesday night. No way to be sneaky in our rig but really no need to be. We stayed there all day Thursday and worked remotely. Verizon service available.

Report Check-In

Honestly a really cool spot. I have two dogs and one isn’t cool seeing other dogs, so I can’t just open my back doors on the beach and chill. We took a walk through downtown St. Joe, then came and chilled here.
