Description

Wow! What a beautiful oasis in Valle de Bravo. This spot is a marina first and foremost, with a beautiful grassy area next to the lake. The sunsets here are breathtaking. It's about 20 minutes from the actual city of Valle de Bravo. There is electricity but only one strong enough to power one RV (we had 3 RVs with us and we couldn't all plug in). It was $200 pesos per night whether you dry camped or had electricity. There was no formal dump area but water was available. We stayed for 6 nights and loved every minute of it. You will hear dogs barking, city noise, and fireworks from time to time, but generally is a really peaceful location. We went paragliding with ProFly during our stay (Valle de Bravo is a world famous place to paraglide) and visited the Monarch Sanctuary to witness the butterfly migration. Definite musts if you're coming here!

Great little spot with a nice view of the lake and mountains. You park on a grassy area. There's shade late afternoon if you park at the far left and there's also a large tempo for shade. Stayed 5 nights, we were the only ones there. We had just adopted a puppy so it was a great and quiet spot for him to get to know us. They have water to fill up. Bathrooms and cold showers. Santiago is a super friendly owner! 250p for 2 people in a van. I think you can hook up, but we didn't ask as we have solar.

As previously described. Great place to decompress. Lovely views of the lake. After dark, with no wind, the No-See-Ums are biting. Not enough to drive me off. Just an annoyance. No mosquitoes in February.

Very nice campground. Super friendly owner. Shower is warm for a short time but ok. Clean toilets. They still build more things.

We know this place as “Chago’s marina” and were told about it by our friends at Travels with Kevin and Ruth, who have spent many winters in Mexico. We spent 5 nights here, for 300 pesos/night (2 adults, 1 child). We parked on a big grassy lawn, next to a water spigot and near the bathrooms. Normally cold showers only. Chago connected the boiler for a hot shower, but it wasn’t warm enough for me to force on my five-year-old at this time of year. :) Beautiful view of the lake. At first we wondered if we’d be too far from town, but it’s an easy taxi ride. You can catch a taxi from the road outside the marina. We paid 36 pesos in the morning, when our taxi was running as a collectivo. If your ride is a “particular” (private route request), then it should be 70 pesos from the center of Valle de Bravo. We got a tour driver to pick us up at the campground, take us to two of the waterfalls in Avandero, and then on to Piedra Herrera to see the butterflies! What an unbelievable experience. All in all, we’ve had a wonderful stay at the marina AND exploring the area.

Has one grounded 15 amp outlet, one non grounded 15 amp outlet. So assume you'll be boondocking. There is one shower in the women's bathroom and a male bathroom with no shower. There is also one sewer dump on the drive way under a carport. Santiago the host was very friendly and will show you. There's also one water spigot.

The view is amazing and overall it is pretty quiet. It's a marina so you might get some noise from loading and unloading of boats which is not a big deal. The breeze off the lake kept us nice and cool, but check the weather as the locals stated it does get hot. The local town has some great restaurants and an awesome cafe with the best wifi we have seen in Mexico. There's a butterfly migration sanctuary about an hour away which was amazing.

*PRICE was $200 pesos a night with or without electricity, and during peak seasons $225 pesos a night*
