Large parking lot and campsites at the cross-country and snow mobile trailhead off of Highway 20 between Twisp and Omak just south of the Loup Loup turnoff. Nice view, quiet, and two bars of cell reception.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
I stayed several nights just past the parking lot. Small loop with 3 stone fire pits. Decent amount of traffic on the road, but still very quiet & nice views. The pit toilet in the parking lot was clean but housed A LOT of flies! Full bars with TMobile. Overall a great spot!
Report Check-Inwe found a nice level pull off before the snopark, literally just turn off of 20 onto NF-41 and you’ll see a clearing. some trees for hammocking. full sun for solar. 2 bars of at&t. the road honestly had more traffic than we expected, but it quieted down as the day went on. there are pit toilets at the actual snopark lot. some trash on the ground. but overall decent for an overnight!
Report Check-InLarge parking area on top of mountain.
Place for multiple big rigs. Full AT&T bars. 2 bars on Verizon. No amenities.
As good as all of the others say and I also want to add that T-mobile 5g is blazing fast here. Best connection I've had in days and literally no one around. A little bit of road noise but really in the background. Beautiful view.
Report Check-InGreat spot, some road noise but only at daytime and not too much. We didn't saw any further explanation regarding the permit thing but there is only a sign at the parking spot in front of the toilet. we stayed behind the toilet where a fire rings was already
Report Check-InI was going to stay at the Walmart in town but it was way too busy with too much traffic. I drove up here and indeed you need a permit from about the middle of November through is thru the middle of April. Apparently this is a ski resort area. However I'm here in the beginning of October and I do believe based on the signage that I was reading you don't have to have a permit to stay up here during the off season . This is an awesome place to park. There is a pet toilet. It is super is is supremely quiet. And there are ample places to park your rig. I'm looking forward to a good night Sleep away from the city under the trees and the mountain peaks.
Report Check-InThis is a beautiful site. The parking lot with the pit toilet clearly says you need a sno-park permit BUT if you read the bulletin board posted it says you only need a permit 11/5-4/30. I did not stay in the parking lot but went a few feet down the road and turned right on a dirt road. There was a fire pit here and a great view. No water.
Report Check-InAs it is said: Big aerea with room for lots of Vans, RVs, Tents. We are not sure if you need a backcountry permit, but slept here one night without beeing disturbed or see other people. In amy other season except summer it might be freezing cold at night, even now we slept with full blanket cover. Bit very nice and great view.
