Description

------

Castle Creek Road has several pull outs that are great for camping. Some are right next to the river with plenty of space. There are spots all the way to the end of the road.

These are boondocking sites so remember to Leave No Trace and pack it in and out. Everything you bring needs to go out with you, including toilet paper. We saw a lot of trash where we camped but picked up everything we saw.

Report Check-In

Drove almost to the top of road, is all now private property. No camping, hard to turn around because of narrow roads and ice so be careful if you have a large rig.

Report Check-In

Decent camping spaces! No camping signs posted but no one seems to care. Pitter patter.

Report Check-In

Stayed here 4 nights, easily drove to hikes in and around Aspen during the day. Was worried at first that the locals would kick me out so I parked 6 miles in the first couple nights. Then I saw a US forestry sign at one pull out that said no tents or fire, but nothing else, so I felt more comfortable. Tonight I parked in a dirt pullout about 2 miles in, before Mariposa St., and no one bothered me. Occasional bits of 4G (AT&T) at 2 miles, but none further out. Right next to the road, but not many cars, and sounds easily blocked out with ear plugs or if you park next to the creek. Beautiful sunset and sunrise views of the mountains.
