Description

Take this logging road for free overnight camping. Town was not very forgiving to overnights this is 10 mins out of Nelson. The beginning of the road has a lot of pot holes at the beginning of the road but levels out. It doesn't require 4x4. We did it in our old 20 foot class B. The 1st parking is busy with mountain bikers until dark then very quiet until around 6.30am when a tree planting crew came by. Further up the road there are much quieter pull outs.
No amenities just a place to park that is good for one night and better than the airport.

Latest Check-Ins

Would park at the bottom of the road unless you have high clearance vehicles- logging trucks working this winter have caused some huge destruction to the road.

Stayed here for one and a half week, another guy was living there. The people logging don’t mind as long as you just move if they would need to clean snow or do maintenance. Quiet place, great starry skies… perfect

Lot's of little campsites. Found a small side Rd. No issues. Phone signal

Can agree with the pervious post about freedom camping in Nelson. Stayed here after arriving at about 1 am from police removing vehicles from along airport road in Nelson. Stay here instead. Secluded area and you won't be bothered.
