3 mi from Red Lodge, small campground with 6 tent spaces, tables, fire rings, bear boxes and 2 vault toilets. Small stream running thru it, serves as a trail head, many hikers on weekend. If you have a long trailer beware, you may not be able to turn around, especially if crowded.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
5 or 6 sites with picnic tables and fire rings. A group (?) site with a fire ring, and picnic table and logs for seating by a gravel parking area. Two trails going out from there.
Wooded area with a stream.
ATT two bars. Blacktop turns to gravel coming in. There’s a 25’ (approximately) class A (?) type camper at the topmost site. Neighboring campsite has a dog. Couple of pit toilets.
Tent camping allowed but be bear aware.
No camping fees.
We stopped through here. Nice campsite, but it was full so we didn’t stay. (We found another site on W Fork Rd). The town of Red Lodge was flooded recently, but the businesses have been unaffected and things are up and running. Bear Tooth Pass remains closed.
Report Check-InCamp grounds are closed in the winter. Road is blocked off. It looks like you can maybe hike past the road closure
Report Check-InCampers beware - I have stayed here on two separate occasions in 2021, and both times had camping chairs stolen that i had left along with a tent to reserve a spot (tent was not stolen, just chairs).
Report Check-Ingreat spot to camp (in car, tent, under the stars, rv, etc). nice hike here as well: willow creek.
Report Check-InVery clean, pit toilet had toilet paper which was nice! A huge creek was flowing right beside the camp site, only 5 sites I could see with fire pit and picnic table.
Would def come back!
